Of all the places visited Bregenz is without doubt my favourite, it’s not the most beautiful ( it is beautiful) it’s not got the best nightlife, it’s buildings are not not stunning, but still holds a place in my heart, it has the best bar in the world Wunderbar, any bar that plays Pink Floyd at 11:30 in the daytime gets my vote, it bakes bread and serves it hot with salted butter, if you ever go, cold Moran beer and fresh bread, you can’t get better.
Lake Constance has the the beautiful sunset I have ever seen, fishing is fantastic and the open air opera festival is world class, I seen Carmen this year and loved it. You can (and I have ) visited Liechtenstein, Switzerland & Germany from Bregenz all in one day, buses and trains run on time all day every day.
It also serves the best ice cream I have ever tasted.

Bregenz Hafen is a nice and relaxing place for families and people of all ages. "Hafen" is simply the German word for "port" or "harbour" (for my American readers: "harbor").

The harbour, or Hafen, is about 2-3 minutes walk away from Bregenz city centre, and a similar distance from the main train station.

There are no particular activities offered at this place - it's just an opportunity for a stroll by Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere, perhaps over a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop.

On most days you get a view of Lindau, a German city about 8km (5 miles) away, and on bright days also a view towards Switzerland to the west.

From Bregenz Hafen you can also get a boat ride on Lake Constance - tickets at the ticket office on site.

Austria has to be one of the most beautiful country I've visited. The Bregenz-Lindau area is breathtaking. You can just walk around and do nothing..but you will enjoy the place!

You can walk in either direction from Bregenz Hafen: either towards the Festspiel and beyond or towards Lochau and further to Lindau. Either direction is good. Passed the Festspiel there is a lovely sporting/water park (you pay for entry) and further on is a lovely harbour area which is peaceful and relaxing. In the other direction towards Lindau, there is a smaller water/sporting area (pay to enter) or a more exclusive area out over the sea near the Seehotel at Lochau. Here you can get a coffee or beer with food as a non-guest or alternatively you can pay an entrance fee and use the sun loungers and dip into the See from here. This is about 45 min walk from Bregenz Hafen. Boat trips around Lake Konstanz/Bodensee also depart from Bregenz Hafen. There is also a train station here, but only limited service stop here, the main station is just further along the coast towards Bregenz city centre. Bregenz Hafen is highly recommended.

It's very good for long walking. Clean area with plenty of space. There is some kind of theatre placed on the water, that must be very interesting performance. Unfortunately we didn't know about it, but next time I would like to see that show.

There are small private boats there. It is also from here that the boats leave to reach other towns on the lake and also those which allow you to take tours on the lake.
