An easy walk from the centre of Kitbuhel. The Lake was frozen over during the month of February, but was still scenic and picturesque. Well worth a visit. The hotel/restaurant overlooking the lake; offers an uninterrupted and pleasant vista.

Nice walks around lake, hire a boat or go for a cycle. Such a nice place in the mountains. Stop off at the hotel for a beer and nice lunch, all easy for parking.

Thought we'd try the lake for swimming but were nervous. Lake water was clean and relatively warm. There were slides and diving boards which were great fun Water left us feeling refreshed and akin and hair so soft. Also had a spin round the lake in an electric boat which was very relaxing.

If you enjoy a gentle stroll rather than a hike this is for you, there are plenty of seating areas around the lake which has stunning views, there are 2 cafes and a hotel where drinks, meals and snacks can be obtained. Wild swimming either at the lido which was closed when we visited or from access points around the lake is possible, apparently the water has health benefits and is warmer than average. There are small boats available for hire also. From Kitzbuhel there are several routes you can walk, but the quickest takes about 30/35 minutes and is well sign posted although it is along the side of a busy road on a dedicated walking &a bike route.

As title. Nice walk around lake took just over an hour from Kitzbühel centre there and back. There are some obstacle routes if you fancy them.
