Not happy with their decisions
Feb 2020 • Friends
They open and close as they want the lifts.
Sometimes you are come down the mountain and suddenlt everything is closed. You get no refund of money and if you are unlucky, you lose a few hundreds of euro's without having skied. It is a scandal !
They don't give any information on boards .
They only way to check is one app wich continuesly changes.
Never again.....

Hello L5444NVchrisb we are really sorry to hear that you are not happy with our decisions. However we want to inform you that your safety is the most important value to us, thats why we had to close down some lifts within in the last days due to the heavy storm hitting Austria and Germany. The wind was simply too dangerous for letting you go up with the lifts, a risk we are not willing to take. We do understand, that you might not be happy with the decision that were made due to your safety but I guess yout wouldn't be happy sitting in a gondola for hours when a storm is going on with winds stronger than 100 km/h outside since modern lifts stop automatically if the wind is too strong. We hope you do overthink the "never again" since we can assure you, that our team does everything possible to provide you an unforgettable (and safe!) skiing experience in Kitzbühel. All the best, yours KitzSki Team

It’s all about the money
Feb 2020 • Couples
This area only has 1 goal, make as much money with as little effort as possible. Skipasses are very expensive, pistes a poorly prepared but what’s worse, lifts are closed for whatever reason, when it rains, when it snows, when there is some wind, when visibility is poor, only with perfect conditions lifts are open, can I get a refund for my very expensive skipass, no sorry read the small print. In fact when in Kitzbuhl/ Kirchberg the lifts are down, the other resorts in the area (st johan, am wilder kaiser, pillersee), are wide open, we bought some daypasses in st johann to be able to ski a bit.
Bottom line, don’t spend you money in this resort, go to other resorts in the area or go to Switserland or France.

HelloPeejee1999, we are very sorry to hear that you were not happy with our ski resort. I do assume that you visited us within the last two days. Please be sure, that all we aim for is to give most value, best skiing conditions and simply an amazing time to our guests. BUT within the last two days a heavy storm was going on on the mountains all across germany and austria. In these days our only goal is to keep each and every guest safe. That's why it was necessary to close some lifts but in every minute our team tried it's best to do everything possible to guarantee some skiing on different pistes near the valley. We hope you think about not visiting us again since we are only interested in your safety and skiing still depends on the weather. All the best yours KitzSki Team

TOP RESORT
Feb 2020
This is a beautiful ski area with a famous history and the lift company have made the most of enjoying the mountains with upgraded lifts and heated seats however the Hannenkahm gondola remains a scrum which is hard to fix as increased capacity would lead to even more crowed pistes .I found long waits at most lifts on my February visit and although there was a dump of fresh snow it very quickly was ski ed off to reveal hard firm piste underneath which gave a nasty combination on t episte of less then competent ski ers and fast show offs amazingly I witnessed no collisions.Mountain restuarents are many and cope well with the crowds, the fayre is very Austrian but that's why we go

Huge skiing area

There are a lot of lifts, some of them are not very busy, so you have a lot of fun skiing. The runs are generally quite wide and well prepared, so you will always find a nice slope for you and your friends or family. Sure, I will return!

Great family resort
Dec 2019 • Family
First time there during Christmas break 2019 for a week. Though not much many sunny days, we loved the place because the slopes were long and wide with beautiful scenery. Our teenies went sb/sk alone directly on the first day and I had no worries. One finds WC almost everywhere and some lifts are gorgeous, new and fast.

Great views and a chance to get the same views of the start of the downhill skinrace
Jul 2019 • Couples
A peaceful and interesting way to climb the mountain! We bought the summer card passes so we could go up and down as often as we liked. Some nice walks at the top as well as a nice restaurant though this seemed a little pricey. The cable car was also open on a Friday evenings.

Incredible Skiing Experience in Europe
Feb 2019
Most of the time I am skiing happily in Deer Valley, Utah, But I always wanted to ski in Europe and I had a chance this winter. I needed to be in Munich for a business, so I looked for a ski resort nearby and found Kitzbuhel. It was about 90 minutes limo ride from the Munich airport. I stayed at ski-in ski-out Kempinski Hotel. Very comfortable and convenient. But the mountains and the slopes, they were magnificent. They had 14 inches a couple of days before, and there were powders everywhere. The groomed runs were immaculate, and the whole resort was so big and expansive, I did not have to ski the same slop twice the whole 3 days I skied. Views of the Alps were magnificent. The cable car ride which connected the two mountains was more than I expected as it moved in and out of the clouds. There so many restaurants and pubs on top of the mountain peaks, you do not have to lunch in the same place. I think the Europeans skiers dine better than we do in the states. The lift ticket was far less than half of what I pay in the states, and if you are skiing with a large family multiple days, savings in lift tickets will reduce the cost of the plane tickets considerably. Everyone spoke English and they were very friendly. I went skiing alone this time, but I will certainly go back with my family next time.
