About
AUDIOVERSUM is the interactive museum in Innsbruck all about the captivating worlds of listening and wondering. As a ScienceCenter it fascinates visitors from across Austria and beyond with its combination of medicine, technology, education and art and is therefore unique in Europe. The main exhibition “Adventure Hearing”, with its multimedia installations invites visitors to join in and sharpen their senses: by navigating through the ear in 3D, by acoustically hunting invisible birds and by touching oversized sensory cells, visitors explore the manifold functions of hearing. The initiator of the only ScienceCenter in Tyrol is MED-EL, the world's leading supplier of implantable hearing systems. The exhibition concept is extended with regularly changing special exhibitions. Thus, a visit to the Audioversum is always a new experience.

This was an absolutely brilliant visit on our short time in Innsbruck. Our children, aged 9 & 6, were entertained for the whole 2+ hours with the temporary & permanent exhibitions. It was quiet, but visitors are missing out because we had a fantastic time! It was recommended by the tourist office, easy to get to on the trams & very entertaining! There should be more museums like this!

The main exhibition was overall ok, but I expected a bit more from it, not as scientific as we hoped for and in some places if felt it was made interactive just for the sake of being called so. Too bad not everything is translated into English in the exhibition downstairs - if your German is a little rusty, you cannot really enjoy it the way it was meant to, but we still had fun. We spent a good hour there, loved the musical steps.

This museum was very hands on making it ideal for families with children. The instructions were in both German and English. All in all it was a fascinating insight to the world of hearing. I particulary enjoyed the section downstairs on how animals hear. There was plenty to do and helpful staff were on hand to show you how to use some of the high-tech equipment.

On our last day in Innsbruck I read about Audioversum in a hotel magazine and we decided to visit, as our friends had a 10-year old.
Surprisingly, we were all amazed at the amount of information it has to offer. Very interactive, interesting and fun! Highly recommend a visit.

We visited that wonderful modern museum lSt week with children. A very nice welcome, nice girls who were guiding us through it, had a chance to take a virtual trip into a human ear, to learn how it functions, to hear the sounds of space, to play games- we got not less fun from doing that than children, perform music, guess sounds, to have an idea how people hear with problems with hearing as if we were in their pairs of shoes, really nice, a lot of information- we were two Russian families, I am writing the review in English on purpose- tours are made in German and English , so if you are reading it now- you are quite ready for the visit! Open the world of hearing for you in all it's beauty!
An important thing- we were shown and explained how a special micro machine functions if you have a difficulty with hearing, failed to visit the room where there's more information about it , it was occupied by TV people as the man who is one of the inventors and creators of the museum was given a prize and they were making a special program about it! Good luck and best regards to girls!)))

We were excited to visit Audioversum because my 10 year old son saw about it on Youtube. We had travelled nearly 2.5 KM from our hotel to visit it
We went there by 4:25 PM but denied the entry rudely by saying you need to come at least 2 hours prior to closing time.
Great disappointment to us and especially to my kid.
Knowing that Innsbruck is a tourist place, the open hours window should be increased at least during the peak visitor season.
Or otherwise it should have clearly mentioned on the website about the last entry by 3:00 PM

Dear Santyns,
thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We are very sorry that it was a bad one. It is in fact true that our latest admission is at 4:30 PM, as stated on our website, and the visitation of all exhibitions will take 1.5 up to 2 hours. We want to apologize if you and your family had the feeling of being treated impolitely for we are always eager to make a friendly and open impression. If you get the chance it would be a pleasure for us to welcome you in our exhibitions!

This is a wonderful place to visit for the young and old. Many hands on activities to do. While we were there a special exhibit of the science of sound was truly a learning experience for us. The people working here are brilliant, personable and eager to share their knowledge and assist in making your visit entertaining and pleasurable. Everyone here is so kind and we were delighted to learn so many things that will stay with us forever. Very well worth the visit. Free with the Innsbruck card.

My family called in for a look and it was okay without being great.
We did the hearing test at the end and provided our email address and, five months later, still haven't heard anything.
Hmmm, wouldn't really recommend.
