We have just returned from 6 days skiing in Innsbruck with another family (9 in all), and had the best service and experience with Michael and all the ski school team. They went out of their way to help and advise us (as first time visitors), to the extent of drop offs and pick up for the whole lot of us when only 3 where in ski school. Michael was also really helpful with sharing his local knowledge of which mountains where suitable for each level, and when to go.

We had 2 instructors, who were both wonderful with 3 first time young kids. Angela took all 3 from nothing to skiing down blue runs, Lucas had them racing me down to the bottom by the end of the second day. Unreal, and well worth every penny spent. For those debating the value of a private lesson vs group, it’s no contest with these guys.

I’d like to say a massive thank you to Michael and the team, you guys made our holiday so easy and memorable.

We went there on the 27th of December at their store located in the City Center of Innsbruck to check if it was possible to go skiing with a private instructor during the afternoon. Luckily they managed to book us a ski instructor to the 13 o'clock class. The cost of the private ski lesson for 2 was 155 euros. We went to Patscherkoefel Mountain, taking the Bus line 'J' via Olympia Express (bus tickect: 2 euros). We chose to rent the skis and boots at the village of IGLS (half the way), in a store called Skira (skis, boots and gogles around 35 euros for half a day). It is also possible to rent the skis at Patscherkofel at Intersport. I am saying that because if you are not used to go skiing you will find really hard to walk all the way from the city until the mountain on your ski gear beacause it is really heavy equipement.
Our ski instructor was Martin and we really enjoyed the class and were able to learn a lot. We recommend Ski and Snowboard Schule.

We have been in Innsbruck for the Christmas Markets and took the Funicular railway and cable car up to Seegrube on Sunday 10th December. The views are stunning and it was our intention to enjoy the views, play in the snow for a bit, grab a bite to eat in the restaurant and then head back down. However, on seeing the Innsbruck Ski School there I made an enquiry as to whether they could do a beginner lesson for my 8 year old daughter and me. They did me a price which I thought reasonable and booked us in for after lunch. We had lunch in the restaurant enjoying the views and then went back to the Ski School. There we were met by Julien, a really pleasant and friendly young man, who kitted is out. He then took us out and introduced us to Olivia who was our instructor for the afternoon. She was really good and patient explaining things very well. We both really enjoyed our first experience of skiing which I am sure was made even better by the good service provided by this ski school. I am only sad we are just here for a long weekend otherwise I would have booked up for more.

I had never skied before and my instructor helped me each but of the way. I started off on the children slope and with teaching, I completed my first black slope independently. I will never forget how much I smiled that day!

I would like to share our experience with Innsbruck ski Schule.

With a recommendation from hotel Mondschien we booked a private lesson for my two adult children who had limited ski experience and not in Europe. The GM Robert appointed Felix Wilmer two do the job. Felix was prompt collecting the kids from the hotel and escorting them to the free ski bus.

Felix looked after them impeccably gently encouraging them to improve and understanding their different skiing abilities.

On another note my wife and I decided to have a crack at skiing after an absence of 27years. Once again we contacted the ski school and they appointed the lovely Isabella who was extremely kind, patient and very competent. She looked after my wife brilliantly whilst I was able to ski alone after some tuition.

We loved the skischule and how they helped. The ski rental Die Borse also need a mention as after organising the ski rental they ferried us back to our hotel, with gear and then for a small fee collected it once our rental was completed.

As we hadn’t skied since the days of long skis and no helmets, we thought it might be worthwhile to have a 2.5 hour refresher course. We had Martin for our instructor and he did an excellent job in going over the basics once again. He was patient with us and by the end of the lesson, my past experience started to kick in. We were watching Martin during a ski lesson later the same day and he gave the same excellent instruction to that student. I am sure that there are days when it may be a little tiresome teaching the very basics for skiing to a number of students every day but Martin brings a professionalism to his work which was very much appreciated by us.

We also want to pass along a referral for Intersport which is located next door to the Ski Schule and where we rented skis for the day, making the reservation prior to leaving the States. Everything was prepared, ready and waiting for us when we arrived in the morning. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to help us make sure the equipment fit properly. We were very pleased with the entire team at this Intersport and would recommend them.

Between these two services, everything is taken care of for you and allows you to enjoy your day at Patscherkofel

Thanks Innsbruck ski school! I was visiting Innsbruck over Easter and wanted to send my kids off skiing without having personally to go to the slopes. If you book a private day instructor, there is free pickup of your kids from hotels in town. I have used so many ski schools over the years, this is next to none, unheard of service. For 220 euro a day for 2 kids and 4 hours skiing and all the travel and lunch time, it is a great great deal!!! I can't recommend the school enough. You can get your skis at Boerse, they have free delivery to your hotel but you pay 4 euro per person for the return service if you don't want to return personally. Still it was well worth the convenience. Love the ski school, I wish all other ski schools in the Alps offer the same service.

The school takes on a personal goal on your behalf to ensure you learn how to ski! I took the group classes, but was really struggling to keep up, my instructor Toni suggested that I sit out the class for an hour and then take me for a private lesson after class! He spent 1 hour with me and that made the world of difference! Julian the manager was kind and also very helpful, it felt like home! If you want to learn how to ski, highly recommend you go here first!

My husband, daughter and close friend arrived in Innsbruck from Australia with no idea where to go to organise snowboard service & repair, snowboard lessons and rent appropriate gear. After searching the internet, we found a place called Die Borse. The young man who greeted us was extremely helpful and spoke very good English. Within no time he had organised our board maintenance and gear rental. He also organised Michael Bar from Ski & Snowboard Schule Innsbruck to assist us with our lessons and detailed instructions for getting to the Patscherkofel ski area for the following day. Michael went out of his way to meet all of our needs, including driving us back to our accommodation with our equipment that evening, free of charge. On the day of the lesson, we were picked up and dropped off at the bus stop to take us up to the slope and again picked up at the end of the day.

Our snowboard instructor, Carlos (I think that was his name), was fantastic. He was friendly, reassuring and made us laugh! After only one two-hour lesson my daughter learnt the basics and was able to confidently attempt to snowboard a blue slope.

After we returned our rental gear, we asked Michael for suggestions on where to go to dinner. As we had no mobile coverage, Michael attempted to book a reservation at one of his favourite restaurants. Fortunately for us, it was fully booked! Michael then proceeded to make another phone call, making a booking for us at a small, family owned restaurant on the outskirts of Innsbruck. He went out of his way to take us to the front door of the restaurant, tackling the slippery icey roads, as well as giving us tips on what authentic Austrian food to sample. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience.

Mike also arranged transport for us to travel to Konigsleiten, an hour's drive away, at a very reasonable price. Our driver, Kristoff, was just as welcoming and friendly as Mike. He made the drive thoroughly entertaining.

I highly recommend for anyone looking to have a ski or board experience in the Innsbruck area to go to Die Borse and Ski & Snowboard Schule. Mike was an absolute pleasure to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and he approached everything with a friendly, generous and above all completely professional manner.

Thank you for an unforgettable 3-day holiday in Innsbruck!!! Looking forward to coming back one day!
