Westendorf is beautiful, the people are friendly.
You should definitely try paragliding, because it's a wonderful experience. Choose Lubim!
He is a kind, funny, reliable guy with whom flying is an incredible adventure. Real unclouded freedom! He made our vacation in Tiroi unforgettable.🙏❤️

Have been to Westendorf three times. The first time we thought that there was very little to do in the village. We later discovered that travel to other parts of Austria is very easy, by travelling on the bus to Worgl (20 minutes) the rail station there will take you north to Germany, East to Vienna and Salzburg, West to Switzerland and South to Italy. In all, a very good centre to see Austria. We stayed at Hotel Jakobwirt, a four star hotel, family owned, and excellent

This is a village I have been visiting for many years! It is perhaps better known for the winter season when the skiing is fantastic. The ski lift are Connected to the KItzbuhel and Bixon lift... thus an oppertunities for all standards of skiers. In summer on just relaxes and enjoys the peaceful beautiful surroundings. You can never be bored here as the villagers ensure there is much to do..... Farmer's market, Live music by the local village band all attired in their national dress.Breakfasts up the mountain, long as well as easy walks. Imagine just relaxing in the forrest with a great book.....a wonderful experience. End of September there is the procesion when the cows are brought down from the mountains for the winter, decorated magnificently, and not to forget the umpah bands and beer festivals. W magnificant experience!!!!!

Just back from skiing in Westendorf. Brilliant! Stayed in Hotel Jakobwirt. Can't understand the peculiar negative comments on the hotel. Accomodation was great, food great and service we could not fault.
If you are going you should look forward to it...........it's great!

We have just come back from a week skiing in Westendorf and found it a great resort. The slopes aren’t the easiest but found that this was great for those in our group who wished to improve. A ski instructor told us that a lot of the blue slopes are actually red gradient but labelled blue as they are so wide.
The resort had enough to keep our multi ability group happy and everyone was delighted that the slopes here are quieter than the other villages in the skiwelt area.
The nursery slope is right in the centre of the village and very close to several bars and restaurants. You can ski from the nursery slope over to the main gondola.
While here we stayed at apartment Charlotte. The hosts here were very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was smaller than it seemed from the website photos but was excellently equipped with everything you need. The beds were a little too soft for us but overall we were very happy with the apartment.
Our only gripe over the holiday was an issue we had with Stefan’s Taxi company. We ordered a private transfer to and from the airport. We chose a private transfer as we have a young child so lots of luggage and may have needed to make stops on the transfer. We paid the full price of €460 upfront. Collecting us was not a problem but when the taxi arrived to take us back to the airport the taxi driver informed us that we would not be on a private transfer and would be collecting three other passengers. When we contacted the office to complain they were not interested in hearing our complaint and initially refused to refund us or send a separate taxi. The taxi was so overloaded that there was not enough room for everyone’s luggage. Some luggage had to be out on the rack outside and some had to be jammed in at the side of the driver. Initially the taxi company refused to refund us any money but after several hours they came back and gave us a small refund.
All in all Westendorf is a great resort. The people are friendly. There is good skiing to be done there. Our favorite restaurant was called Berger. Very tasty and good food. Our favourite pub was Friends which is a lovely cosy pub. We will definitely be back although we will definitely NOT use Stefan’s taxi company.

I have skied Westendorf a number of times whilst visiting the Ski Welt and I have stayed there twice ( soon to be Three) I have always found it a friendly place to stay and visit.
My overall impression of this town is that it has something to offer everyone. It is good for families and for partying it is always clean and friendly.
I cannot think of any negative comment for the town and look forward to visiting again.

we visited Westerndorf with national holidays and you could not ask for a more perfect location. The scenery is just picture postcard and the people could not be more friendly We stayed in the Mesnerwirt hotel ideally located in the centre of the village and I would highly recommend this venue, I will definitely be returning in the future

My family and I went skiing in Westendorf for a week over xmas 2008 that we booked through Inghams and stopped at the hotel 'Briem'. My partner, children and I were all in separate classes with the 'Reds ski school'. My partner and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves but I have a gripe.

The tuition I had with my instructor was fine in the morning but as soon as it came to getting something to eat for lunch the whole afternoon turned into a bit of a dissorganised fiasco. Virtually all the restaurants were always full and we found ourselves spending a lot of time going from restaurant to restaurant trying to find places for our group to eat. Very frustrating! When we did manage to squeeze in somewhere everybody was seperated, ordering at different times and it was always hard work tryng to find a waiter to pay. The end result was that the afternoon skiing suffered. This should never happen. I spent £4500 aprox. to ski, not to spend time searching for somewhere to eat at lunch. I could either blame the instructor for not organising us better or I could blame the resort for not having big enough restaurants. Either way I ended up quite miffed. The slopes were great and I loved the skiing but I don't think I could risk going here again, it's far too frustrating.

Hotel Briem and it's staff were great. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel apart from the showers which had quite poor water pressure.

This year we decided to visit Westendorf for our summer holidays and oh wow it did not disappoint! If you are a hiker and obviously love nature Austria is one of the places to go! The views once you get to the top of the mountains are simply spectacular, you can see for miles and miles, it’s like there is no ending! There is so many hiking trials you can easily spend a month here. The whole experience felt so serene and wished we could have stayed longer! If you are not much of a hiker but still want to see theses views there is cable cars that bring you all the way up! The cable car stations once you are up are super child friendly so if you are a young family traveling with children there will be plenty for them to keep them occupied! Overall it was an amazing experience and would definite come back!
