Very nice setting during Salzburg'so October festival. Got our mug and took to the Jamokes pouring the beer. Did a poor pour and the mug was half foam! Watery and not up to normal standard.

Big food and big beer, what more could you ask for on a lazy afternoon in Salzburg. Go visit for a wonderful experience, pay your money, pick your stein, give it a wash and pass to the bar tender to fill, watch out when he slides it back across the counter.

We were a bit confused on arrival but quickly settled in at a table with locals. We had two liters each as we people watched. Sadly the weather was bad so we were couped up but they have ample indoor seating! My girlfriend procured us some ham with mustard and horseradish... I was not disappointed. Everything was tasty and fresh.... More

We parked the car right near Augustiner Brau and when we came back heard a lot of noise. We realized that we could have dinner there and decided to try. Great choice: good traditional food at an average price and a great "biergarten atmosphere".

Went one sunny afternoon with my wife and two children. Lovely beer garden, great fresh food, great beer and fantastic relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Visited the Braustubl based on a recommendation from a tour guide and so glad we did. Located in what looks like an old Abby or church, the place is huge and filled with beer, food and people. It was the best beer garden experience we had anywhere in Austria or Germany. Not to miss.

Despite food and beer, it was the people and its ambiance make things special. Visit here at dusk, you'll found yourself in paradise on earth after a few steins and to easily greet the fellow travellers/the locals. (p.s. If you managed to find that little park behind the beer hall, a slice of Salzburg is waiting for you). Certainly unforgettable... More

....and still superb. High quality beer served out of litre earthenware stein pots....vast old indoor halls where big groups of locals trawl up with their own massive food preparations and hit the beer....very atmispheric and a must-do on every visit to Salzburg

One of the oldest beer halls in Austria. Must visit the place to drink in 1 ltr mugs. Beer is awesome here. Have never seen something like this before.
