FlyTandem Paragliding offers paragliding tandem flight over Salzburg City. If you ever dreamed to fly like a bird, paragliding comes very close to this feeling. Together with a well-experienced tandem pilot, you get that sensation to move freely like a bird in the air. Only a few steps are necessary to get airborn! Meeting point is the Kohlmayr's Restaurant on top of Mt. Gaisberg which you can reach easy with the public bus in about 30min from city center (number 151).

DO IT!!! This was such an amazing experience I will remember forever! Julia in Customer service is fantastic, very friendly and responsive to emails. My pilot Jan was great value, made me feel very comfortable and tailored the flight to my desired level of adrenaline. The view is stunning and as long as you can run a few steps it is easy!

Flew with John, had a fabulous experience, made me feel very comfortable and safe. Would absolutely recommend to everyone. Only scary part is the first 10 seconds then its a smooth ride from there. Beautiful views of Austria

Austria was country 30 for me so I needed to do something outside of my comfort zone. I organized for my boyfriend and I to go paragliding and I’m really happy with the decision. My boyfriend is terrified of heights and I am also a little afraid, but Wolfgang and Tom were amazing and made sure we had the best experience possible despite a little bit of fear!! I would do this 1,000 times over and over and my boyfriend would agree. If you are thinking of paragliding while in Salzburg, stop what you are doing and just book the flight!! I promise you won’t regret it.

Reached Salzburg at 10 in the morning coz the pilot tom mailed.us the pickup point.the cab guy couldn't find beyond Aigen.repeated calls to Tom as well as Wolfgang went unanswered.finally a
Tom picked up the phone at 12 15 saying that it's too late and windy.absolute mess.travelled all the way from India to waste a lot of cash.never had such problems with tandem USA.big thumbs down.....

This was by far one of the best experiences of my life. Wolfgang and his team are amazing and ensure that your are comfortable and safe. My fiancé was terrified to go but he kept her calm and once in the air, she loved it. I highly recommend this as the scenery around the area is unbeatable.

Fly today with Wolfgang and it was amazingly fun experience. First time to do paragliding but i didn't feel nervous or anything. These guys are THE professional. Must try when in Salzburg. Thank u FlyTandem thank u wolfgang .

I traveled to 5 countries on a 3 week trip to Europe with my boyfriend and Tandem Skydive in Salzburg was the highlight of our entire trip! Wolfgang and Tom were great with communicating, on time, friendly and made our experience incredible. They gave us plenty of time to view the sights at the top of the mountain before we the paragliding. The views were gorgeous and they took over 200 pictures and 4 videos using a GoPro between the two of us. If I ever go back to Salzburg, I will absolutely be giving FlyTandem a call!

We made a reservation and were instructed to meet at a campground near Salzburg at 10:15 am. The pilot showed up at 10:45 and said that the winds in this location were wrong, and that we would have to drive 45 minutes to an alternate site in Werfenweng. We agreed to meet there since the pilot had to pick up a friend enroute. He showed up in Werfenweng just before noon, when we learned that the lift shuts down from 12 to 1. We had lunch, and when the lift resumed operating at 1, my wife boarded and began her adventure. Her flight was as advertised, and she had a good time and saw fantastic sights. When she and the pilot landed, he apologized for the confusion in the morning and said she could have a 20% discount. Since we had already paid online, this involved crediting our card. When she and the pilot arrived at the office to take care of this, the owner (Wolfgang) refused to allow the discount, and was rude to my wife and another customer. The pilot did give her a discount on the photo/video chip he had shot during the flight, and that was most welcome, but that does not excuse Wolfgang's behavior and failure to honor the pilot's promised discount. If you go, be sure to get all the particulars clearly understood!

This was the first time I try Paragliding. Flytandem is reliable with fast response by e-mail. They keep track of the weather and offer advice on the best flying conditions. The trip up to meeting point had amazing scenery. I did Thermal paragliding. Wolfgang was very nice, he made the whole process from take off to landing easy and I felt safe.
The Views were amazing and it was very relaxing up there.
Had some adrenaline rush doing tricks (which is optional but a must).
I advice first timers to be prepared for motion sickness, I felt some nausea after landing, when I got to town I bought the travel gum and continued my day.

My friend and I have visited Salzburg last week for a couple of days and we wanted to try Paragliding for the first time, we have booked with (Fly Tandem) team at Mt Gaisberg. The coaches were very welcoming and friendly.

What is the easiest way to get here from Salzburg?
Hi! If you stay in Salzburg our flight area Salzburg/ mount Gaisberg is very easy to reach for you! You take the bus 151 from the city center (Mirabellplatz) to the last stop, which is at our meeting location.
The bus is for free if you show the booking confirmatio for your flight.
I'd like to take a picture. Does the typical fare include taking pictures? If not, how much more do I have to pay? How do i pay?

Hello! You can take pictures before the flight but during the flight it's usually not allowed and recommended to take your own camera out - for your own safety and also because you can drop it (thats also 3rd party safety). We do picutres pictures and video from your flight, which you can check after the flight and if you are happy with the result you can buy them for 29 EUR. Cash prefered but card payment is also possible.

I would advise aS soon as possible.. I booked mine probably three months in advance. Also, if you’re staying in Salzburg I would recommend taking one in Salzburg where they can pick you up on their way to the field. The other site which is much farther away ,we did take a train and two buses and just to get there and back was an all day thing even though the flight itself was only 45minutes. And the extra 15 to 20 minutes are up in the air is not worth it.(also, due to motion sickness, I was only in the air for 15 minutes

How long does it take to arrive to the location and get back to Salzburg? I am interested in the first or second flight of the morning but need to make a 12PM train

Hello! The usual way is to take the public bus from city center. The bus needs 30min to the take off (usual meeting point). After landing we can call you a cab or you can use again the public bus. Bus needs about 15min back to town. Sometimes if we have time we pick you up also - let us know where you stay by booking.
To be safe in time for the noon train, book the 8:45am flight but it shoulb be doable with the 10:15 too.

Sorry Nadoorz, I have only been to this part of Austria in the summer, and so, I don't have an answer from experience. It was my impression that the staff from the Paragliding company were very knowledgeable and had a substantial knowledge of local conditions. I would suggest talking to them and would be comfortable with their recommendation as I am sure that both your safety, as well as their own since you fly in tandem with one of their staff, is of paramount importance. They spoke English and were very easy to talk to over the phone. Best Regards and Good Luck.
