Highly Recommended! I can't say enough about the entire experience with Manfred and Patrick. Their knowledge of the area, and ability to time the day out ensured our tours were personal, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. They knew when and where to stop, what to eat and drink and how to navigate lines and attractions. Besides that they are an amazing team that keeps you focused on the adventure. We did the The Hills are Alive and Hallstatt and the Bavarian Mountain tours, each were full days. Promptly arrived both days and got us back only after we saw everything scheduled! Highly recommend using the Driver/Guide combination - it really adds to the enjoyment and understanding. The vehicle was perfect for all 6 travelers, very comfortable. Overall a great tour was promised and delivered! Highly Recommended!

Outstanding!!! Patrick was the perfect guide. We were staying in Munich, Patrick is based in Salzburg and drove to Munich to pick us up (that’s how this tour works), so we had a Salzburg expert taking us around Salzburg. We picked the return train option for the end of the day, and Patrick walked us into the station, bought the tickets, and guided us to the platform to return to Munich. Honestly the train return was best as we slept. This is the perfect Munich day trip! Patrick is a rock star tour guide.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Did the Sound of Music/Hallstatt tour. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating but Lena made the tour amazing! Easy in and out in the pouring rain to visit the movie scene spots. Driving back in the dark and the snow, Lena was an absolute pro. Highly recommend!

Salzburg was charming and fun, but the tour of the lakes and mountains put the brief trip "Over the Top" in terms of memories, enjoyment, opinion. The lake district is on par with Lake Como

I booked MCM Tour through the internet and having done a fair bit of searching. The trip planning with Manfred (tour guide and MCM owner) was uneventful and his price is reasonable. He picked us up at our hotel and the first impression was good, clean car and nice personality. We had a 3 day program and a transfer back to Vienna. He is very knowledgeable and know all the good scenery sites and locations to take good photos; he knows good and reasonably priced restaurants as well, in and outside Salzburg. For example, we went to the Eagles Nest but he suggested that before we do that we should have a trip up the mountain next to the Eagles Nest which offers a very good panoramic view of the surrounding area - may be better than the Eagles Nest and we can compare afterwards. We did and he was not wrong.

Very happy with this guided tour and if I am going back to Salzburg, I would use him again.

We were a little skeptical about this tour company at first after reading the not so positive reviews online. However, as we wanted to do a small group tour to Hallstatt (without SOM), there weren't many choices. We thought about going by trains and boat ourselves but we wanted a more relaxed day without worrying about connections and timetables.

Manfred was efficient with his email replies. As no one else registered for the same tour, we (two of us) had to pay the minimum charge for 4 pax if we wanted to go ahead with the booking. It was fair enough and still worked out cheaper than a private tour.

Our guide, Richard, came on time to pick us up from the hotel. As there were only the two of us, we were chauffeured to Hallstatt in a nice Mercedes. Richard told us a lot of things about Salzburg, the lake districts and Hallstatt. We stopped along the way to see the lakes. When we got to Hallstatt, Richard told us the best route to walk and things to do. We then ventured to see the beautiful town on our own for about 2.5 hours. We enjoyed walking through the quaint town, had lunch at a restaurant next to the boat pier before taking a boat ride as suggested by Richard. The lake, the mountains and the view was simply breathtaking. It looked great in the guide books but it was unreal to see it in person. We were blessed with sunny weather which made it a day in heaven.

We were so glad to have done this tour. As I wasn't feeling the best that day, I was glad that we splashed out a little bit and did it the fuss free way with mcm. I was able to enjoy the day without wearing myself out.

We did a sleigh ride through MCM. While the ride itself was lovely and the driver from MCM was knowledgable and great, the overall experience was one fraught with confusion and mis-information. We emailed back in August about booking a tour, and got a confirmation. When I emailed again to confirm before our trip, Manfred said in fact that since he couldn't book anyone else with us that we'd have to do a different date. I was upset and then (my mistake) told him we were booked with confirmation on X date, but I quoted the wrong date. What followed was a series of emails full of confusion on both of our ends, but regardless he wasn't honoring the original date until my husband emailed separately and offered to pay for a private tour. When we were picked up at our hotel, it was a lovely luxury car and the driver was wonderful. I had high hopes. But when we got to the sleigh, it was covered with a tarp/roof, and on wheels. I asked if we could take the cover off so we could see the scenery better, but the driver said he couldn't. So that wasn't great, as it was a perfectly sunny day and half of our view was obscured. The ride went up a road instead of through snowy fields as is pictured on the website; it was pretty, but again not what I hoped/expected. The biggest issue with the whole thing turns out to be the money. What isn't clear on MCM's site is that they don't actually run the tours, they just drive you to them. So the $375 we paid for the "private tour" was actually just a private car ride, and then the sleigh ride was another $120 on top of that! It's $17/person which is what we were told, but we'd requested a PRIVATE sleigh ride and they never said it would be that much more. So we spent, with tip, well over $500 USD on a 2 hour event. Not worth it. I loved the experience but not for that money, and I still wish it had been through snowy fields and forests not up a road where cars drove by and people were walking en masse. Didn't have that romantic, dreamy feel.

We booked the private tour as a group of four. We were meet by the engaging and friendly Patrick. He showed us some beautiful locations en route to Hallstatt. He was informative and interesting. His English was excellent. The tour surpassed our expectations and Compliments to Patrick for taking the day to the next level. Only advise is check what time the skywalk closes on your planned visitation day as we got side tracked in and around the beautiful town of Hallstatt. Highly recommend booking this trip.

Incredible scenery from, perhaps, the best mountaintop in the Alps. History pictured with FDR, Chamberlain, And the villains of WWII. Pretty drive up and short walk from house to best view. Check months closed before going.

The lift up to the castle makes it so much easier and the bird show and all the other activities they do there are great. Easy place to spend a full day and great history to the place as well.
