We walked into the galleries entrance as we thought? Paid 5€ each and it was extra to return??? Ok we can walk back, then at the entrance paid another 16 € bit of a scam I felt, praying on the tourist the total cost compared to the fort is not warranted or reasonable

The view from the museum overlooking Salzburg and the mountains is worth the trip up there. However, the museum itself was lacking in art and there were a lot of bare spaces throughout. Others may like it but I thought it could have offered more.

I am truly perplexed by the bad reviews for this museum. First, I’d like to point out that many of these reviews are quite old. Next, if you’re expecting a NY MOMA in every modern art museum, then you’re just being pretentious. I’m sorry you didn’t get your Warhol, Pollack, Rothko, or a side of Marcell Duchamp fix in this space. But you should know that modern art can also extend to the present day artists who can make you think about your world NOW. This museum was well curated with engaging presentation and focus on each individual artist. For many of the art I saw, there was even enough space to better understand the maker’s process and the evolution of their work over time. The museum also used new media, VR, and film to highlight intriguing issues. It clearly represented (in creative fashion) the way that time can change the landscape, a person, or a thing. This museum is not meant for those who want to just look at pretty pictures, but to engage and think past what is tangible and experience it in different ways. You should also eat at the restaurant up top. It has some beautiful views.
