This place is great, such a rarity, amazing statues and beautiful gardens with ‘trick’ water fountains. Highlights include the unsuspecting dinner guests, the riding crown and the spouting deer horns!

Wasserspiele Hellbrunn is now utilizing an Audio guide with human beings supporting in some of the places to control the amount of water that guests need to endure - so yes, there is a certain risk of getting wet - though likely not soaked during a visit.

Built by the prince archbishop to entertain his guest and apparently he also has a really good sense of humour and he has built with little water sprays in many parts of the garden. it was nice to get wet as it was quite hot that day, but on the other hand, it wasn't as you don't want your things to get wet

I took the Hop on and off Bus [Yellow line] and it stops pretty much just outside where you enter the Schloss Hellbrunn water feature area.

Also known as “The Trick Fountains”. We took the guided tour & no-one was told about the different areas where water spurts out; great for kids & on a very hot day. Stand back & enjoy if you do not want to become wet.

The workmanship is amazing – from the 1600’s built under the guidance of Archbishop Marcus Sittikus by the commissioned architect, Santino Solari.

We took this tour in between looking at the Palace & Volkskunde Museum.

These fountains and gardens were built by the Prince-ArchBishop in 1613. He created these whimsical and humorous fountains and gardens. Can only be seen on the tours which move along nicely and are very informative. Allows you to "experience" the ruler's love for surprises. Definitely worthwhile.

I took the Hop on and off Bus [Yellow line] and it stops pretty much just outside where you enter the Schloss Hellbrunn water feature area. You have to walk around the corner to the ticket office and cafe area [also where the main entrance is to the castle/schloss]. The cost for the castle and the water feature is only E12.50.

I knew nothing about this place so it was all exciting and new. I highly recommending to take children to this on a hot day with beach wear on as they will get wet if they are adventurous. The tour was in German and then also in English [but I think they also do Spanish]. The tours start roughly every 10 minutes and you wait just outside the gate so you scan your ticket in or once in at the start under a tarp. You can also check out the huge fish in the water while waiting.

The tour was very informative and so much to see, including little caves and miniature towns, plus sculptures. With many cheeky squirting features - adults watch for where the wet / dry spots are on the ground and you will be fine - but the kids - go for it! Lots of laughter to be had by all. Takes about 30-45minutes to do and then you can walk around the rest of the gardens of the schloss.

I have chosen not to post any photos of this as it will spoil the fun! Enjoy.
