During our trip in Sept 2016, while moving on our way to Salzburg Fortress, this church was on our way. I loved its beauty, structure and portraits are in the church, they are so huge, so bright one will fall in love with the art.

Very warm, calm, serene place. As usual, there is the main altar , side altar, back balcony with organ, praying pews. As like most others, it is quite dim inside. Say a prayer, stay calm. Then continue your tour of old town

I was in awe as soon as I opened the doors to the church. The walkway and arches are cast a shadow so your eyes are immediately drawn to the end of the church where light comes in and makes the elaborate centerpiece glow. It's beautiful!

I came here for the high mass at 9 am on Sunday morning. The singing and the organ were so beautiful and I enjoyed the service, even though I could only understand about half of it. The building is beautiful on the inside and out and I enjoyed being with the locals of the town.

There are so many churches in Salzburg. This is one of my favourite. It has an amazing high ceiling supported by tall columns. The interior is not very big but just beautiful. Entrance is free. It is not crowded as the Salzburg Cathedral.

This church is really a different one than the Dom especially if you consider the architectural style of it. From inside it looks very huge, and somehow you can almost touch the special atmosphere of the church, I can't describe it really.

The Franziskanerkirche is a truly beautiful monument to faith. It is a fine illustration of the changes in architectural expression over the long period it took to construct these edifices with the manual methods and tools that existed during the medieval period. The later renaissance and baroque modernising do little to distract from the interior's soaring beauty. This is a... More

For some reason all tours and most tourists pass this elegant church up. It's a shame as it is very interesting and see to see. Don't miss the Pacher Madonna (1498) and the choir und Orchester. Run by the Franciscans

The franciscans are relative newcomers to this chirch, having been resident only about 350 years.....the structure is much older and a good example of medieval style

And so it is: it is a very calming place and I enjoyed a stop there. If you need a spiritual re-boot, this is the place to go.
