About
Fantastic outdoor swimming pool. Lovingly called Lepi by Salzburgers. There are five pools and very nice facilities including an almost 70 m. long waterslide. The complex is among the largest in Austria and thanks to the nice grassmeadows you can always find a spot for your self. Leopoldskron is fantastic for children with not less than three pools for children. All with sunprotection. One for the smallest with a depth of 20 cm. Including a small creek. One with 30 cm depth. And a bigger with a "learn to swim" area where the waterdepth goes from 0 to 60 cm. For adults there is a 50m Olympic pool.

Outdoor pool close to central Salzburg
Aug 2019 • Family
These pools are fantastic. Clean and with slides. The children spent 4 hours there and would have happily stayed longer. Good value for money, (approx £15 for a family of 4 with 2 children over 10 years old). You can take your own food and drink as well as there being places on site to buy food. There is also trampolines and crazy golf for an additional charge. We used the 23 bus as well as the hop on, hop off bus to get there. Can't recommend it enough.

Perfect way to spend a summer afternoon
Jun 2018 • Family
We did not realise Salzburg got so hot - while sitting having lunch at the fortress we could see many inviting blue pools and water slides and had to get there!

A short drive outside of the main city, Freibad Leopoldskron was the perfect way to spend a hot summer afternoon with our 4yo. There were so many different types of pools for young and old, including lap pools, water play areas and a range of water slides.

With the stunning Salzburg alps in view and facilities such as secure lockers and showers, food and drinks available, this was great value and a very relaxing way to spend a summer’s afternoon!

Holiday visit

Visited 13th August for a 3 hr period. Very clean, numerous pools different depths. Lots of fun for kids. Life guards on duty well equipped , sunbeds & umbrellas for hire. Need you own towels. Just off the Hop on Hop off bus route or can use the cycle from Salzburg. Food & drink options mostly chips burgers sausages etc. Can bring your own food. 2 kids 11 & 14yrs both enjoyed. Very family focussed. Mini golf & table tennis there. Worth a check out on a hot day.

Not for swimming
Aug 2017 • Solo
Tried to go for some training laps, but it turned out to be impossible. Sports pool has been divided into jumping pool and swimmers section, but no lanes. Old ladies with sunglasses and "do not make my hair wet" attitude drift along while others jump into the pool from all sides. According to the supervisor, they should be swimming in lanes, but they do not enforce that. Anyway, one can not flip turn at one side because there is just a primitive cord dividing the sections.

Stainless steel sports pool has 50m size, geared up for competitions, could be fun, but is a little run down.

All in all, not a place to go to if you want to do some serious swimming.

Awesome way to spend a few hours!

I can't say enough good stuff about this water park.

During our Segway tour, we went past here, and asked the tour guide about it. He said it was a water park with slides, which immediately caught the attention of our kids, who are 15 and 18. Over the next couple of days, we ran out of planned activities, and the kids practically begged us to go.

So, after lunch one day we put on our swim suits, called a cab, and went to the water park. Well, first we went to (I think) the house on the lake from The Sound of Music. My German is rudimentary at best, but after I pulled out my phone to show the cab driver a picture of where we wanted to go, he took us there. The cab drivers are very patient and helpful.

Anyway, the water park is super-cheap (under €5 per person), super-clean, and wasn't crowded, even on a sunny Saturday afternoon! I don't know why it wasn't crowded, but it was awesome.

My wife, who loves to swim laps, went to the lap pool, which is also the diving pool. There are a variety of springboards and platforms at different heights.

The kids and I went to the two other pools, which have slides, fountains, water jets, and different depths for different ages.

There are table tennis tables and other activities, as well as a pretty good snack bar.

If you're in Salzburg, and you're looking for something not Mozart related, or for a different way to relax, I highly recommend the water park.

Beautiful public swimming park perfect for families
Jun 2017 • Family
We discovered this swimming park by accident after a lunch on Moostrasse. It is right opposite the Schloss Leopoldskron (the Von Trapp house location from the Sound of Music) on the lake.
Something here for every age, numerous pools at different depths, playground, cafes, pool tables, foosball tables, ping pong, beautiful grassy areas to relax and picnic. And a mini-golf park next door - my kids' version of heaven!

Great for a day 'at the beach'
Sep 2015 • Couples
Beautifully clean water and surroundings, lots of space for kids to play and decks for adults to sunbathe.
There are restaurants and cafes, plus beach volleyball and a mini golf.
Definitely worth a visit. It was exactly what we needed after 2 weeks of cities and sight seeing!

Swim with a mountain view
Aug 2015 • Family
A lovely place to hang out - 3 different pools, plus lockers and snack bars. It was wonderful to swim with a mountain view. I paid 3 euros for my swim, less than a coffee!
