Went on the 4 hour tour to the Salt Mines. We went in a mini bus driven by our tour guide ‘Walter’, who told us lots of interested facts as we travelled from the city centre up into the mountains. Travelled halfway up the mountain to see the famous Eagles Nest, spent nearly 2 hours at the salt mine, then stopped on the way home for a beer & apple strudel! Highly recommend this tour..... all our teenagers really enjoyed it.

Had a day trip to Salzburg from Bad Gastein by train due to bad weather, so only had 6 hrs , while waking down to the Old Town came across Panorama Tours.
One of the guides told us the best way to get there and where to go and what see including getting to the fortress.
We booked a round town 1hr tour for later in the day which was fun and very informative.

We went today on the original Sound of Music tour and I literally want to cry. I pay over 100 euros for this trip believing we would visit the sights and people would be singing on the bus. Most sights you are not allowed to visit, which means you either stand outside them or drive slowly by them. At the beginning of the tour the whole bus started singing do-re-mi and we were asked to stop. Then followed and hour long monologue about historical Salzburg, which could be interesting, but not what we want or payed for. When we drove outside Salzburg they just put a cd on with the soundtrack and going home a video telling us all the things we were told in the first hour. I can put on the same video and soundtrack at home, so this felt like a rip off. Very very disapointing experience and loss of money.

Thank you for joining our Original Sound of Music Tour and for the time to bring your experience to our attention. We are really sorry that it was not possible for us to meet your expectations and that you left our coach disappointed. We do understand that you would like to gain a deeper insight into the Sound of Music locations, therefore, being somewhat disappointed. However please be aware some of the sites are not open to the public and therefore cannot be visited directly. Thank you for respecting that. Furthermore we are rather limited timewise as the film locations are not only in the city of Salzburg but also in the country side and we try to cover as much as possible in the four-hour tour visiting some sights which are not so easy to reach. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy the tour, but we would be delighted to welcome you again and invite you on one of our tours.

Greatly overpriced and underwhelming. Even the most ardent Sound of Music fan will question what they're getting for their 60 Euros. Included in the 4 hours is almost an hour wandering around Mondsee on your own. Cut an hour off the tour and charge 20 Euros. That would be fair. I will give credit to the tour guide Mitch who was dynamic and very good at his role. Note that all of the stops are accessible to the public. A group of 4 could probably hire someone to drive them to the half dozen stops for the price of one ticket. Granted you won't get the thorough historical narrative but a brief internet search before hiring a driver will set you up just fine. It does not have to take 4 hours either. Sorry to be negative on this review but mine is not the only you will see expressing these thoughts. I fell for the barrage of 5 star reviews especially on Panorama's site. No surprise that I can't seem to leave one there. Buyer beware on this tour.

Dear Zenon Thank you for taking your time dropping us a note regarding our Original Sound of Music Tour. We are really happy to hear you enjoyed our guide giving a good historical narrative as you mentioned and not to forget our driver on the Sound of Music Tour Thank you for your kind words, which we will defiantly forward to our staff members Yet regret to hear we did not meet your exceptions on the running of the tour. However, the tour was accomplished as described on our website, including 2 photos stop in the city visiting the lake at Leopoldskron and the Gazebo in Hellbrunn. As well as 50-minute stop at Mondsee in the beautiful Lake Aera offering our guests plenty of time for visiting the Sound of Music wedding chapel. This way our guests enjoy some free time for a coffee break, walk through the town, spend more time in the church or buy some souvenirs… Please also note, the walk from the coach parking lot to the center is about 15 minutes one-way – time to be considered especially with guests with impaired mobility. So, the actual time in Mondsee is less and by no means a hostage-taking of our guests, but rather a nice break after touring the city and countryside before heading back. By long term experiences, the running of The Original Sound of Music is highly appreciated by our guests … being one of our most popular tours receiving myriads of 5-star reviews. Once again, we are really sorry you felt trapped in Mondsee being a too long stay; but would thank you for taking your time giving us feedback We take any comment very seriously for improving our service being therefore awarded with TripAdvisor’s certificate of excellence many years in a row. Best regards Your Salzburg Panorama Tours Team

We were not able to go on a tour because Panorama does not wish to accommodate people in wheelchairs. In spite of the fact that wheelchair accessible buses have existed for a long time, Panorama does not think they have to provide reasonable accommodations. If you are disabled, you are not welcome.

We would like to take this opportunity to politely point out once again that we would have very much liked to welcome you and your family on our tour. Unfortunately our buses are not equipped for such a wheelchair, we would have loved to welcome you on our tour but unfortunately it was not technically possible in this case! As already communicated in several emails, we would have had an alternative ready but unfortunately this was no longer possible at such short notice. We therefore ask for your understanding!

Max the driver tour guide was lovely. He was laid back and explained the tour around the city on the way to the Salt Mine. He dropped us off and lead us the entrance fast track to get our gear and locker. Then he come back to picked us up after an hour 15mins.
The Salt Mine was a great experience and enjoyable. The mine tour guide was quite serious and professional speaking in their Austrian language. I didn’t like the audio guide phone. Should upgrade a better one for the price that we paid to the mine.
Every shops was closed on Sunday as we are the last group at 5pm.
The driver came back picked us up. He drove us to a small village called Berchtesgaden for 45mins tour. So we paid the packaged was to see Bavarian Alps. We didn’t get to see the scene as we paid. So there’s a disappointment about this tour. Sunday is not best time for excursion as all shops were closed only a few cafe and restaurants.

Hello, thank you for joining our Salt Mine Tour and for taking time to bring your experience to our attention! We are more than happy that you were fully satisfied with our guide Max and that you enjoyed the experience in the Salt Mine so much! However we are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with our service! We are sorry that the guided tour at the Salt Mine didn't work properly. We will make sure to forward your comments related to the audio-guides to the customer care department of the Salt Mine. We operate our tour as described in our tour description advertised on our website as well as in the tour brochure. Berchtesgaden is part of the Bavarian Mountains and in catholic countries it's the custom and also layed down by law that shops are closed on Sundays. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures with us and other guests and we would be happy if we could get another chance welcoming you back on one of our sightseeing tours someday! With best regards, your Salzburg Panorama Tours team

Brillant day. You see most of the main sights from the film and learn lots about the making of the film. The guide we had was great fun (can't remember his name now though). I went with my 10 year old son as the rest of my family (husband and older son) didn't want anything to do with it 😆. We both loved it and sang along to all the songs on the coach whilst travelling between each sight amidst beautiful Salzburg landscapes.

I imagine it would be even more fun with a group of good friends and a couple of bottles of sparkling wine 😁

I think it
