Obertauern is a huge ski resort with a variety of slopes to offer. However, sometimes there are quite long parts in between that are not that well connected and where you have to walk. Gamsleiten 2 is absolutely no slope for beginners and people that...More

This is a very nice ski area, situated in a wide valley, where you have slopes on both sides of the main road, with ski paths crossing over the main road. There are a huge variety of slopes, but the area is largely of intermediate...More

Obertauern is a bit too popular with big groups. 30 or so people skiing together is not a good idea, causing bottlenecks on the slopes, at the ticket office and creating lift queues. They would also do well to consider opening times - in late...More

We wanted to try skiing here, since it was suggested by several friends. The resort is reasonably big, with different types of slopes for all and well served with the lifts. The altitude is relatively low and if it is cloudy large part of the...More

This is a lovely resort with beautiful views in every direction. My only complaint is that the layout and facilities are really tailored towards skiing, making it tough to get around on a snowboard. Lots of flat sections between lifts meant I had to unstrap...More

What a great route! We went all around, from one mountain to another. There are different routes and different kinds of hills! Great!

Great snow conditions in Obertauern in Mid- March. Nice slopes, not so long, but always well-prepared.

Plenty of snow, seems to have it's own micro climate, snowed most days from 10 Mar18 but did not stop our skiing. Lots of powder.

Approx. 3,5 hours driving highway (Autobahn). We spend nice time in Alpenhotel Tauernkoenig. They even have very nice restaurant for dinners. Location is perfect - next to lifts and slopes.
