Nice viewpoints of the area and good apfelstrudel at the last berghof/stop. The final al to the top is recommended.

There is also a nice playground for small childeren.

Minus, is the small terras next to the parking lot. Especially when there are some busses.

Green, green rolling hills. Winding roads. Restaurant stops along the drive. Parking is available. Hiking trails are well done. Love it here !

Well if we were riding bike, than I would say it is a good trip - but by car I doubt. Views are some quite nice but that is all.

Ok here's the thing: The drive and lookouts were nice if not fantastic, probably a three or four star rating. However, they are not worth 18 Euro (which doesn't even include the Alpine botanic garden). You can get similar if not better views just driving around Austria for free. I suggest saving your money for the Grossglockner Alpine Road which is truly stunning.

So let s start by saying that this hike is only possible when the snow is completely melted. If there is snow on mountain tops, For people coming from snow-less countries; you will need some rainproof gear like trekking shoes and pants to say the least. It is almost impossoble to do this hike with a toddler. You need children that can walk for a good time upwards.
The place is amazing. Looks great and impressively beautiful.

Enjoyed the drive up here very much. The road which normally cost 12 euros is free in the winter. The road was very snowy but still well maintained. Fantastic views on the way up and quite a few places to stop and enjoy them. Large car park at the end then a great walk with the dog for a couple of kilometres. Plenty of smaller slopes for the kids to enjoy the sledge. Great trip.

Whenever you're in the area and you're craving for a breathtaking view then drive up to the Villacher Alpenstraße! The drive itself is simply beautiful because you have a stunning view in all directions . There re parking lots all the way up where you can stop and enjoy the view. There is a large parking area on the top from where you also start your hike. It'll take you 1hr - 1,5hrs to walk up to the summit where you'll be able to eat and drink. Again, the view is breathtaking! There are a couple of beautiful churches which are inviting and which you must visit. Walking down there is again a chalet, the Rosttrattenhutte, with delicious food and drinks. I can warmly recommend it. I walk up the mountain at least 6 times a year!

Nice surroundings and a nice drive to do on a sunny day. There are also walks in the region. Take your time, do frequent stops to take it all in, it's worth doing.

The time of the year (mid October) brings a nice bonus for this road. The colors of the milions trees around you, are changing in every corner as climbing up the road.

Drive this tourist drive with the family, whilst it's 18.50 euros to go up ( so get there early ) its a really nice drive, there's lots of viewpoints with car parks and details about the fascinating history of the area, places to eat, and at the top some really nice walks, and horses for the kids to pet!

As long as you make a whole day out of it, worth a visit if you like hiking
