The botanical garden in Klagenfurt is for free andconsidering this, it's quite a nice place. The entire area is rather stunning, especially with the waterfall they have in there.
Only minus is that certain areas are somewhat wild and have a lot of weeds, but I guess there's only so much you can do without entrance fees.
In general would recommend to stop by if you like plants and gardens.

Great place for a short walk and chill-out. This is not an interesting tourist attraction, but if you're near the garden and want to relax for a while it's a nice place to visit. I wouldn't recommend it if you're in the city with a tight schedule. Check the opening hours before the visit, out of the season it doesn't work during the weekend.

This small botanical garden is set at the top of town and we didn’t think a great deal of it. It is largely unkept and, to be brutally honest, not very interesting.

We were the only people in it as tourists but there were lots of people working on it.

Maybe they are trying to restore it to a former glory but at the moment it’s not really worth a visit.

The Botanic Garden in Klagenfurt is situated next to a residential area close to the Klagenfurt city center. Limited free parking is available on a small forecourt. An entrance fee is levied; entrance is free with the "Kärnten Card". What shall I say about the Botanic Garden. Maybe my visit was in the wrong season; furthermore, a number of paths were closed off. But if you compare this Botanic Garden with the Botanic Garden in Münster, Germany, (with free entrance by the way), the Botanic Garden in Klagenfurt shows limited appeal and lacks the appearance of loving care, that is abundant in Münster. The visit was a bit disappointing and in my opinion only worth a two point rating.

It is not the best nor the greatest of Botanical Parks in Europe but is is, nevertheless, nice and relaxing. Parking is available, good walking shoes are helpful, especially on a rainy day.

If you're this end of town, this is a reasonable way to pass 30 minutes but I wouldn't go out of your way. It'll almost certainly be better in early summer when most of the plants aren't dying back, but the various winding paths provided a pleasant distraction.

We visited in late June. Just a week earlier, Klagenfurt had highs of 36C a couple of days. The plants told us that they remembered the sudden blast of heat. The spring plants were knocked down, the summer plants hadn't come on yet. But we could tell this is a nice garden, worth a visit for an hour or two.

We visited on a rainy day and had the garden all to ourselves. It's well done, with everything carefully labeled. Admission is free, and so is parking. It's not extensive, but it's a nice, convenient place to enjoy nature while within the city.
