Lovely park and lake in the suburbs of Graz
Oct 2019
Plenty of space here to wander and sist. There are benches as well as some hammocks where you can rest. A cafe with outside seating is within the grounds but not that cheap and some choices a bit limited. A dear garden centre type shop adjoins this.

If you need a rest - go there
Jun 2019 • Couples
Graz has many interesting and beautiful places. If you need a rest and want to have a rest - go there. Enjoy the small lake, have a walk into the Leechwald or make a bicycle trip.

1 star for Lake (like really blah) 3 Stars for food 5 stars for flower and furniture and nik nak shop in building
May 2018 • Couples
Lake had a half sunken paddle boat, ugly docks, dirty water, ok path and nice flowers. If they are trying to make this a tourist destination, this fails so miserably I cannot believe they don't have a budget to make it nice. It's not worth a visit, unless you want to stare at a tiny dirty lake (probably smells in summer) or you want to shop at the store inside. It's outstanding. Seriously that was a shock. Way to go store.

It's not big

The Hilmteich is not large, it's small. You can dash around it -as I witnessed one girl do - in 5 minutes, or you can take a leisurely stroll of 20 minutes. There is a lovely restaurant that abuts the Hilmteich. Go there, sit outside with a coffee or wine, and watch the people and the ducks.

Ice scating in winter
Jan 2017 • Solo
The pond is a natural ice scating place during winter. There is also a wondeful cafeteria for breakfast, lunch or a hot coffee after scating. You can go by strassebahn.

A Lake?
Jun 2015
I saw locals fishing there... it brings some fresh to the air in hot summer days...but honestly it's not much to see or talk about

Pretty lake.
Mar 2015 • Couples
A nice and popular lake next to a good café. There are also hammocks and a play area for children/big children.

Nature escape on the outskirts
Feb 2013 • Family
This is minutes from my sister's apartment, so I take the kids here a lot! It's a beautiful expansive park. . . there's a playground for the kids, a lake/pond with ducks, and a zipline adventure course if you're feeling it. . . a great sledding area if you're here in winter and a coffeeshop (with requisite rude Austrian staff) if you want to sit and take in the views. On the tram line for easy access.
