Just one of the many beautiful churches in Linz. Came to this cute little town as part of our river cruise tour. Many of the cruise lines have an optional day tour in Salzburg from here, we opted to stay here as we've been to Salzburg.

If you have a regard and respect for ecclesiastic buildings, then this one should be on your must see list. Not the usual sort of building that you would see in the UK, being far better adorned with lots of gold leaf and alabaster mouldings, all in the classic style, and no sign of the usual memorial plaques or grave markers that you would normally see.. Huge and impressive paintings illustrate Christ on the cross and similar scenes, illuminated from placing 50 cents into a 'box' located on the wall at the front right hand side of the church. Well worth investigating the history of this church, and the famous people who have been here over the centuries, prior to your visit.

One of the churches with rich baroque decoration from 1726. In Linz there are so many churches, it is difficult to make big differences among them.
