There are three different routes through this pictureseque city, the "trains" (we nicknamed it the noddy train) are based in the large central square with its beautiful buildings, a joy to sit in one of the many cafes watching the world go by, the basic route takes you through the streets in a very shaky and sometimes bone shaking manner, each little carriage has a different language for your information, and takes about 25mins. For those sound in wind and limb! a map from the local TI and its a nice walk around, but there are cobbled streets and footpaths used by mad cyclists!! so look out! and especially the local trams that go at quite a pace through the streets, there is a more comprehensive tour for 55mins going as far as the botanical gardens.

The ride goes from the main square, north across the river, around Ars Electronica, the back south, around the New Cathedral (Linzer Mariendom) and then past shopping areas back to the square.

On our trip the 2nd car was in English.

9€ per adult was a bit more than I think it is worth. But there aren’t a lot of other options.

Linz is not a huge city, so this little street train can show you most of the main sights. This gives you an idea of where you might want to go next. Very pleased to find that the first carriage had English commentary. Not so pleased to be joined in the carriage by about 10 non-English speakers who were just enjoying the ride - but they seemed to be having a good time.

This train ride takes about 30-40 minutes but it lacks so much. Yes, they take you sigh-seen through the city but the information provided is not very interesting. I would just walk through the town and enjoy it that way.

We booked the tour spontaneously. The price of 9€ per person is a bit overpriced I think. The tour takes you through the city center and across the river to Ars Electronica. You get to hear information about the sights through the speakers but I'm not sure if they offer other languages than German.

During the Christmas Markets the train goes between the Maarket at the Volksgarten and the one in the main square with no commentary. In the summer it goes around Linz with commentary in several languages.Thdey park in the main square completely blocking the cycle path which is extremely annoying.I have lived in Linz now for 20 yrs and took this when I first arrived.

We took the 25 min Linz City Express today (seated in carriage with English commentary) and it was well worth it to learn about the city and get your bearings.

The yellow road train departs from the Hauptplatz every half hour and takes you on a 25 minute tour of the city's major attractions. The fully enclosed carriages are great for all kinds of weather. The carriages have glass windows and ceilings offering a 360 degree view and multi-lingual commentary is available.

Tickets are available from a kiosk near the departure point. You can also buy combi-tickets here which include the river cruise.

This is a great way to become familiar with the city and is definitely recommended for first-timers.

Using that small city train visitors could comfortably enjoy both sides of Danube river overview and in that way in short time see old and new part of the city with audio guide. Cabines inside the train are warmed-up which makes the use pleasand even now in November with low temperatures.
