Majestic and ornate, the Old Cathedral in Linz is a much more satisfying church to visit in summer 2017. All the statues and paintings are in place, the Dom, while no longer the official city cathedral, is a functioning church. Plenty of light to see...More

One of the dominating sites of Linz we liked the most even though it was not the most beautiful church. But it is definitely worth a look. One block off the Main Square but easy to see from the twin blue towers

This is the main Jesuit church in Linz who are now almost extinct. Just a few elderly left in the Napoleon fortification tower on the Romerberg. The church is unwelcoming

During our visit to Linz, we entered the Old Cathedral (Alter Dom), also called the Church of Ignatius, built in the 1600s in Baroque style. We were allowed to take photographs within this beautiful church.

Wow gorgeous. The white and gold is striking and there's an immediate sense of tranquility when you step inside. No one was in there when we visited. It's not a huge space and I took no more than 5 minutes to walk around. I could...More
