This museum tries to bring modern science to life in a culturally relevant way. For example, they have exhibits about AI and self-driving cars...but unfortunately these exhibits seem well behind current technology. I thought that the most interesting exhibit was on climate change-not so much because it had novel information about climate change-but because I think it represents a very important European attitude about the importance of climate change and geopolitical concerns.

From a museum that promotes itself as avant-garde in the world of electronics and artificial intelligence, finding explanations only in German and English on panels is a little surprising. Furthermore, these are very technical explanations which can be difficult to translate if you do not have a perfect command of the language. Nowadays, apps are used everywhere that allow you to download all the explanations with your smartphone. Really disappointing

The Ars Electronica building in Linz unfolds its very special charm, especially at night, when the facades shine in colorful lights and the entire area is immersed in a futuristic atmosphere. The impressive architecture is staged by the lighting and creates an impressive backdrop that inspires curiosity and conveys a sense of innovation.

The exhibitions themselves, however, were more aimed at a younger audience for my taste. Many of the presentations seem to be designed especially for school classes or visitors who are content with basic explanations of the respective topics. I found that the content did not go deep enough and did not offer me enough substance personally.

Nevertheless, I would like to mention that a visit to Ars Electronica can be a nice Sunday trip for families. The interactive elements and child-friendly explanations could be particularly exciting for younger visitors and give them first access to the fascinating topics of digital art and technology. However, for those interested in a deeper discussion, it could be disappointing.

Very disappointing. The section headings raise high expectations, but the information panels provide very little useful information to understand things, merely listing the obvious and fanciful scenarios. It does not help that the assistants are not available, one of whom - when I asked him what another visitor was doing who trafficked with a 3D scanner - said “Ask him”. In the end that visitor was the only one who made himself useful in this museum. In conclusion, people wander like sheep amid a lot of incomprehensible toys. Luckily close by is the beautiful Linz Cathedral...

Not for the handicapped. Because museum for the disabled. I specify, free for children up to 14 years and over 65 years (it is free). It is shameful, should not have European subsidies to treat the disabled like this. Very disappointed. Other national museums in Linz are free of charge.

A good museum and exhibition on a various of technology related topics. Situated right on the Danube river, you can't miss it. Good for adults and children.

Make sure to check the opening hours and the 3D cinema schedules and plan accordingly. Also the top level has a restaurant but it's not always open.

I went here because a colleague recommended it. It was an odd place. As I always do in museums, I took the lift to the top floor, and worked my way down. 4th floor was just a terrace with view. Went down to 3rd floor which just had a cafe. Had a lovely gespritzter at the bar. Then I started exploring the museum. The 2 ND floor was the music floor, would have interested me, but they just had an accident, a spill of some kind, and it was temporarily closed. :(
The first floor was the kids floor, kids running around everywhere - not for this 63 yr old.
Went to minus 1, was mildly interesting with science-related stuff. Then went to -3 which was the best floor, AI stuff. All in all, I was there an hour. Not my kind of museum, and likely wouldn't visit again, was just ok.

Nice presentation, but unfortunately very weak content. We took the family tour with our two children. The exhibits were described, but the underlying models were not described or explained further. Example: AI is a program that learns like a human.

The employees were friendly throughout. But as already stated: the content was not conveyed. A real shame.

My wife and I had been recommended to see this attraction from our parents so we made a day stop over in Linz to check it out. We were not disappointed - what a great day of adventure in all thinks electronic. We where blown away with the only 3D full emmersion theater that showcased the universe as viewed from within it! You sit in a large 3 storied high theatre and literately see planets brush by you so real you can't help but look like a dork and reach out to touch them!
The people employed there are wonderful in helping in your queries. One chap spent much time with us explaining a theory in astronomy and another chap gave us a private hearing in between sessions on a electronic piano that was hooked up to "speak" via music - it was quite fascinating.
So much to explore in history and current and future communication and electronic wizardry. A must see in Linz.

The only thing that's worth seeing is the Deep space show and even that is quite chaotic. For 30 minutes we saw a bunch of videos and photos that had nothing in common, would make more sense to have something like themes for the shows. All other exhibitions didn't make any sense to me as there was very little or no explanation in English and most of the time there were no labels to show what you are looking at. Staff was not very helpful either as they didn't offer any help or explanation.
