This was a great opportunity to take the funicular to great views over Hallstatt. We caught the last tour but just barely so we had to literally run UP all the way to where the tour starts. 15 min at least of grueling uphill!! We...More

Omg, if you go to Hallstatt you have to go up in the cable car! Absolutely amazing views from the mountain top, and you can visit the ancient salt mines if you wish whilst up there (we didn't so cannot comment on this). It is...More

Not worth the visit. The only fun thing is probably the slide. Other than that you are basically watching videos on how salt is extracted. No real hands on, we can’t see the salt in the mine. Totally waste of time.

Do not miss this place! At first I’m a bit concerned about the price for combined ticket at 32 (or 34, not sure) Euro but totally worth it.

Great experience. Go up the funicular and take in the views before walking further up to the Salzwelten. The tour itself is great fun and the guide explains the mining process and history along the way.

This is great for couples or for a family with kids. Very interesting history. Train ride into the mines, and take a super slide out. Very fun! The props and decorations were a little cheesy, but it helped draw a picture of the times. I...More
