Fun to see

Definitely the highlight of this town. A fun place to see and see it with the background to make fun about politics, stories, culture, etc.

When we visited this museum, its shows were dedicated to two cartoonist/humorists, Manfred Deix and Guillermo Mordillo. In addition to stills of the latter's works, there were also screens showing various short films of his cartoons, all involving his signature tiny people with big bulbous noses. We loved the museum, and thought its light-hearted atmosphere made a nice contrast to... More

Caricatures by Austria's most renowned caricaturists, living and deceased. It goes without saying that you should know the persons made fun of to fully understand the implicit message of the respective sketch. Most foreigner's don't know even their name.

I have never come across Deix before but I found his work sharp and insightful. I only wish I was more fluent in German as a fair bit was lost in my translation. Some of his work is wicked but always fun. You cannot miss the entrance to this museum with the large statues outside.

A Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Austria. Deix is an excellent cartoonist whose depth and wit is only understood if one has followed "world events" of the past 20-30 years in Austria. A other part is for example the famous Mordillo - this is for everbody

The Karikaturmuseum in Krems qualifies as one of the most delicious and unexpected experiences I have had in recent times. Very conveniently located at the city centre, it opens a window into the real lives of Austrians, and their everyday preoccupations, which are at a far cry from the usual clichés. It also gives a precise snapshot of Austrians unique... More

Unique in its kind, at least in Austria, it is always worth visiting this museum. Besides the general exhibition on Austrian cartoon artists, there is always an interesting special exhibition. We enjoyed the current one about peace in cartoons very much.

4 interesting Exhibitions of Austrian & German Cartoonists in building opposite the Kunsthalle. I thought it a little expensive at €10 each
