- SamManchester, United Kingdom46 contributionsIf you're into cars (and there's a fair chance you are if visiting Monaco) this is a must. It's not a huge collection (took me about 40 mins) but the quality, condition and variety is excellent - and shown off beautifully in its new home right next to the marina. I paid €10 to enter as a solo visitor and this is a very fair price. There are vintage cars, state cars, his personal favourites as well as rally and of course F1 cars. Beautiful examples of some of the greatest cars ever like a Miura or Gullwing.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 22, 2024
- Annabel Odyssey ObserverLondon, United Kingdom25 contributionsThe collection boasts an impressive array of vintage cars that are not only unique but also incredibly well-preserved - the sheer variety on display is breathtaking. The exhibits are thoughtfully spaced out, allowing you to take your time and truly appreciate each car without feeling crowded. One of the highlights for me was the chance to watch vintage F1 races from over 50 years ago, featuring the very cars on display. It's a fascinating glimpse into the history of motorsport and adds a dynamic element to the experience. Another big plus is the lovely air conditioning, which makes wandering through the collection all the more enjoyable, especially on a hot day. Whether you're a car enthusiast, a history lover, or just looking for something unique . It’s worth doing!Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 17, 2024
- Giorgio MazzaPontenure, Italy16 contributionsNot to be missed for any car enthusiast. Sensational collection of vintage cars collected by Rainier of Monaco. Models from the 1920s to the end of the century. Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Ferrari, Mercedes, Lamborghini on display. Plus an incredible display of Formula One cars and memorabilia from some of the greatest drivers in history.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 18, 2024
- JS J22 contributionsAmazing collection of antique cars and carriages. Old carriages made by Hermes for the royal family were wild to see. Very unique cars in the collection - my favourite was the BMW Isetta. Good collection of F1 and various racing cars. If you're a fan, totally worth the visit.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 18, 2024
- claire17 contributionsA great museum showing a wide variety of cars. The collection is great for formula one fans or just cars in general. The information boards at each cars were great as were the videos. Spent over an hour here and at €10 each a good priceVisited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 1, 2024
- Jean-Marc D228 contributionsIt's really a great idea to share this collection with the general public. What a beautiful car for enthusiasts.!!! From vintage cars to Charles Leclerc's Ferrari from 2019 to Vatanen's 205. Too bad no DB5 or Jaguar Type E otherwise it would have been perfect.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 5, 2024

On Saturday I bought through Monapass 2 tickets for the next day - Sunday, the day we left Monaco in the late evening. Everything’s seemed to be ok, but opening google maps on Sunday - we became an information, the Museum is temporarily closed. On the entry door we saw that it has been closed since Thursday to this moment on Sunday . They offer is another day for visit, but we had to choose Money back. on Monday was this stuff cleared without any delay. So - be careful by ordering 😎

This remarkable collection of vehicles include everything from sophisticated race cars that have torn through the city streets outside during the Monaco Grand Prix to some very early versions of automobiles that moved much slower.
The museum isn’t as large as we thought it would be, so about 30 minutes of milling about should be sufficient for most. The largest detriment is the lack of air conditioning. You’ll be uncomfortably overheated during Monaco’s blisteringly hot summer days, so I’d recommend visiting in cooler months. The lack of air is quite stuffy and stifling here!

A bit tricky to find, Head below street level and go towards a swimming pool in the marina ..
I pre paid my ticket which cost 10 euros (Sept 2022 prices) adult , Made no difference as it s the same price on the door..
As soon as you enter you can see the immaculate car on show, From very oldies to F1 and Rally cars and cars actually driven by Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly. Look out for the "Fiat Jolly" with a very young Prince Albert , There`s little signs next to the cars telling you what they were in French and English..And watch the films next to some of the racing cars and they will tell you who drove them and what year they won in Monaco ,The place was very posh and the cars themselves were in great condition. I loved the F1 cars, There about 6 of them , one including 2019 Ferrari & A Mercedes at the rear. A excellent museum to visit. There is also a gift shop there..

I'm not particularly a car enthusiast, and my wife has no interest in cars at all, but we both enjoyed it and got excited.
There were a variety of ultra-luxury cars, from the early days of cars to those that have changed over the years (up to around the 1980s, I think).
There were also F1 machines on display, from early models to the latest ones, making it an impressive collection.

Very enjoyable 1+ hour with two levels of cars. Very nice bathrooms on both levels. There is an elevator between them. Once you go into the gift shop, at the end, you can not re enter! The gift shop we found to be a bit pricey. Upon exiting the train station & exiting/arriving to “town”, take the underground passage near the artesian ice cream place & covered benches by the hop on/hop off bus stop (you will see the sign). Go towards “the port”(right), not towards “casino”. There you will see a place that looks to be it..no, it is private. With your back to it, there are steps to your right across the street by the port(maybe an elevator too). Go down & you will see it. TA map looked far but it is 5-10 min walk from train station. Very close. I thought the price was very fair@ 8€. They have videos playing over some of the cars to show you the role they had in the movies, famous people or the Monaco Grand Prix over Many years. Mostly signage in French, but a very fair amount amount in English & Italian

Private Car collection of the Prince of Monaco Museum is a must for any car lover. Along with the classic cars the museum displays pictures and videos about the use of the car within the family. Extremely reflective and the collection is Outstanding

We visited Monaco to walk the Formula 1 course and ended with a visit to this brilliant car museum. The air conditioned interior was perfect to cool down after a hot day walking around Monaco. The collection was pristine and kept in a beautifully presented museum. The history behind each of the cars was beautifully presented on touch screens in a variety of languages and the footage accompanying the exhibits brought the whole thing to life. We were especially happy to see so many Monaco Rally and F1 cars and had a really relaxed enjoyable time. Great gift shop reasonably priced at the end of the museum as well.

We actually came to Mona o just so my F1 mad daughter could visit this exhibition! The cars are amazing - my favourite bit was being able to see into the mechanics area and look at the cars being currently restored.
The cars in the collection are quite unusual - the collection is priceless and many of the cars have a significant connection to the monarchy. The human interest stories really bought them to life in a way that many museums would be unable to.

We visited on our recent visit to Monaco. The museum has fairly recently moved to Port Hercule and for those who know their F1 its under ground in front of the swimming pool near the end of the pit lane. The museum is on two levels, starting downstairs are many cars collected by the late prince along with a few newer additions from todays prince. There are many interactive screens with car details along with back ground video walls showing the cars in action. As you venture back upstairs you are surrounded by many race cars from the monte carlo rally as well as F1 cars. Great little museum very well presented.

Good Day is The Private Collection of Antique Cars open on the 25th and/or 26th of December 2017.
Written December 11, 2017
Being Christmas Day I would say highly unlikely and I would imagine all other tourist attractions would be closed as well. More likely on the other days but I am sure the info would be available on their web site or contact direct.

Fairmont Hotel is how far away & taxi fare pls? How much time should be allowed for viewing? In Europe, senior citizen rates offered?
Written March 15, 2017
Taxis weren't much...I'd recommend asking the hotel to arrange to drive the full F1 course and end at the museum if you aren't interested in taking the bus. The hotel can easily assist with bus instructions and get you sorted. It is walkable, not more than a mile. Maybe a bit hilly though. There are lifts around town to get you up in the level you want to be at.
As for time to view, I was done in an hour, and think my husband, a car enthusiast took about twice as long. Think he rushed for me though. He likely would've taken longer if he had gone in his own.
