The Prince drove up as we were outside the Palace. Guess what he was driving?
My wife and I were part of an excursion to Monaco during a Viking Ocean Cruise this past November. We were outside the Palace when the Prince drove up to the Palace. Guess what he was driving? A Toyota Prius. We thought that was very interesting. The views of the harbor are stunning.

    Great to see
Fabulous building. If you go to Place du Palais, you can get very close to the palace building. It is set in a beautiful square. The changing of guard also occurs at 11.55am each day, but get there early to get a good space as it is crowded. Watch for the guards putting the chains up and you'll know where to stand to get a good view

Nice yo visit if visiting Menton
We saw this place as we were visiting old town Monaco. Its a nice place. We didn’t enter due to time. Monaco is a nice place to visit. We took the train back from Menton to Monte-Carlo. I would add the trains in the South of France although relatively cheap to get to places, its an uncomfortable experience especially when travelling peak times, during the warmer season and with the risk of pickpocketers, its quite a nerve wracking experience!

    Great view
Must climb to the top of the hill if you are able. It is quite a long climb however the steps are shallow, wide and you can keep having stops to catch your breath if needed. The view on the way up is beautiful. Palace and guards are well worth seeing especially the changing. It was really hot when we went so couldn’t stand long in the baking sun but lots of tree shade and refreshments Don’t miss it

    Well worth seeing inside
Most people seem to just come for the view over the harbour which is amazing from here. Changing of the Guard is an interesting spectacle to see, takes place at 11.55 but get there early to get a good spot. We also really enjoyed going inside the Palace where you pass through various state rooms, bedrooms, halls and galleries. They are all very lavishly furnished as you'd expect, especially the grand throne room. Later on there's a room containing various pictures of Grace Kelly and her family. Some amazing frescoes on the ceilings and many works of art. The audio guide is good and explains a lot about the history.

Surprisingly little one gets to see, so maybe a little too expensive, but a nice program point if you want to see some of Monaco's history and interior. At the same time, it is very similar to several other European castles. You will receive an audio guide with multiple languages. You buy a ticket in a souvenir shop outside and then have to wait a while in a security check to get in. Nice view from the outside. Inside you will be taken through some rooms and get to see some of the history of paintings and rooms.

Beautiful visit to the Palace of Prince Albert of Monaco with a wing entirely dedicated to the visit: highlight in my opinion: the throne room and the Matignon room. Plus ? the combined palace / oceanographic museum that allows you to benefit from a lower rate.

Although we visited around 15 years ago, we were keen to see it again now that all the refurbishments are complete. Arriving just as the Palace opened, we virtually had the whole place to ourselves, which was great, allowing us to explore in peace and quiet all the beautiful rooms. The Palace is very well maintained and the various exhibitions are a nice addition. Our ticket included a visit to the Prince's Motor Museum in the centre of town which was well worth seeing.

I enjoyed the views from the palace, and even the exhibition inside of the palace was small but interesting, especially the room where Grace Kelly and Prince Rannier had their civil wedding. I also loved the change of guards I happened to witness. The thing that spoiled my experience was the official souvenir shop (the one that sells tickets to the palace) that not only sell the exact same items that other souvenir shops next door but for 50% more expensive, they also don’t accept returns for goods purchased 5 minutes ago and with a receipt (they only let you get another item in exchange) like some shady shop to rip off tourists. And they don’t have this policy displayed anywhere.

Prince's Palace to visit if you go to Monaco.
We did it in September and it was a little crowded.
We were with our 16 month old son. I recommend this place but not for young children who get bored quickly and want to touch everything. In addition, the stroller should be left at the guard downstairs at the bag controls, so if you have walkers running around it is not ideal for them.

This magnificent palace of the Grimaldi family, the noble family of Monaco, stands in the Monaco-Ville district (old town). It was built on the site of a rocky mountain fortress built by the Genoese, but its history dates back to 1215. It was remodeled in the current Italian Renaissance style in the 17th century, during the reign of Honoré II, the first Prince of Monaco. Grace Kelly, who married Rainier III, also lived here as a princess. Currently, Prince Albert II, the current monarch of Monaco, lives here. It was off-season so we were unable to tour the palace, but we enjoyed the changing of the guard ceremony. From the square you can enjoy a spectacular view that truly makes you think "Monaco!"

It is always a real pleasure to visit this palace. Rooms are being renovated which portends new discoveries for my next visit. Audio guides allow you to follow the visit well. The changing of the guard outside the palace is to be seen

The Prince's Palace is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. Built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, it has been owned by the Grimaldi family since 1297.
P.s. The Palace periodically hosts classical music concerts, one of which I attended. Buying a ticket is not enough, men face the toughest face control: it is necessary to prove their financial viability from 1 million euros in liquid assets (bank accounts, stock exchange, securities).

An enjoyable hike up the hill and there is a cold water tap just before the palace at the top of the stairs and it was a welcome sight to re-hydrate in the glorious summer sun.

It is worth being there for 11.55 am every day to witness the changing of the guard.

It is amazing to think of the history this area holds and it was an enjoyable walk also to Monaco-Ville from here.
