Like other reviewers, let me use this page to give an overview of Andorra la Vella.
It is a very modern and clean city with the emphasis on shops, shops and more shops - most of which are of a very high quality. The old part of town had very little "old stuff" to see and is almost a misnomer.
In short, apart from the shopping there is very little to do, although it is fair to say that there are loads of decent bars and restaurants.
I don't know if it is the fact that the town is surrounded by mountains; that it is relatively small; or that there is little to do, but after a couple of days it felt claustrophobic and we were really ready to move on.
Like many other people, a main reason for coming here was the fact that we had never been to Andorra before. Now that we have been, I can't really imagine coming back.

If you feel like ticking off another-country-visited and you happen to be in the neighborhood. . . an afternoon of shopping in Andorra might be to your amusement.
P.S. For the record, I bought a blouse for 44€ that usually cost 200€ in Paris (I knew the brand, etc).

Dropped in here on an European road trip, and had a look around. It may not be a big shopping area, but it seems to tick a few boxes, especially in the traditional duty free categories, booze, perfume and if you still smoke cigies. The are a few international brands, so its not difficult to spend a couple of hours having a browse and maybe saving a few quid here and there. Enjoy

Didn’t care for the kind of shopping offered in this town. Can’t believe it’s all about the designer brands. It just doesn’t seem to fit into this over-developed mountain city. The pedestrian street is worth a walk up and down - take the canal walk or the trail above town for a better experience.

My husband and I were on a 2-week trip to Barcelona and decided to do an excursion with a travel company. It was a 3 Countries in 1 Day (Spain, France and Andorra). The town of Andorra was interesting as it was nestled tightly between mountain peaks on all sides. However, the town itself had little to offer. Even the famed buying power was lacking. There were a multitude of perfume stores, liquor stores and cigarette stores all along downtown. Apparently these are at a discount in Andorra. But, if you are not interest in these things, there is little shopping interest. There were not even any interesting restaurants to enjoy lunch.
Unless you are looking to get another country visited on your list, there is no real reason to visit Andorra.

The prices for food, wine in Andorra 30-40% less than in France. That's why better to buy here before to travel to the North. Food market is on the ground floor.

If you like shopping or by a rainy day, Andorra mecca awaits with a lot of stores you will find classical and fashions shops, friendly staff will guide you and will offer you expert service.
