Long drive out from Protras but well worth the drive. The Monastery is set high up in The Troodos Mountains and has a vast collection of magnificent antiquities, items of art and treasures that reveal the history of Cyprus and the Monastery. There is a...More

Monastery is beautiful and location is on the TOP of the mountain. It is Long drive but is beautiful. The museum is beautiful but has extra charge of 5 euro. You spend a few hours there.

An evidently rich and important monastery with an ornate church. Well worth visiting, but a bit commercial and lacking in atmosphere compared with some others. The museum is huge. Has cats who get a great deal of attention from visitors!

We have visited this wonderful location many times, however, on this occasion it was marred by organised parties having preferential treatment and totally ignoring the singles and couples who were also wanting to experience the atmosphere. Certainly it is the noisiest I have ever heard...More

This is tucked up in the Troodos mountains and the roads are very windy so the drive can be a bit tiring but it is totally worth it to see the mosaics in this monastery. Best to go early to avoid the bus loads of...More

As long as you stick to the main roads, you should be fine. Roads are always wide enough for two cars to pass and there are low walls or crash barriers at the sides. I am one of those people who, much to my husband's... More
