If you are tired of the beaches and the sea, this is a good option for a change. I don't know if the place is accessible by public transport, but you can park your car near the sea and walk towards the gorge either on...More

My wife suggested we go here. I knew nothing about the place and wasn’t expecting much to be honest. We drove our hire car and the last off road track is suitable for normal (not 4x4) car. After driving approximately 1km along the track next...More

This is a must do and can be organised by yourself, doesn't need a tour for it. Its easy to find on goggle maps and is a 20 minute walk form the car park area. Definitely need a 4X4 if you decide to park at...More

It might be the time of year (April), but the gorge was all green, with flowing water (but a shallow flow, easy to walk through) and flowers etc. The only problem was that we had to stop at some point since there was danger of...More

We have visited Avakas Gorge yesterday, and it was superb. Bit hard to find as have to drive on a dirt road and walk the last 500 metres to the entrance of the gorge but it worth the hassle. Best if you have water proof...More

Worth the effort👍😀 Go ahead - take the full trip. But go prepared and not alone. Bring supplies: snacks and water. For the long hike, wear good grippy boots/steady shoes. It will be slippery and wet at times.

This is very easy to get to with a rental car or by taxi. Just 10 minutes from Paphos. The walk is great and the path is very easy to go by. The gorge gets narrower and more beautiful as you walk. I would prioritize...More

It's a short drive from Paphos and the landscape will amaze you. We were lucky to arrive about 6pm when the last visitors left. It is advisable to wear walking boots or at least waterproof shoes as you'd have to cross the stream several times...More

My husband and I decided to visit the Avgas Gorge with our young son based on recommendations in our guidebook, and were not disappointed. However no matter how many reviews we read we were still not well prepared for it. Having been now I have...More

Absolutely do not go on a tour. You will not get enough time to walk right through and the section that you do do will be crowded!

Apologies for the late reply but I caught the bus and then walked a distance. I noticed cars parked up close to the gorge and they weren't 4 by 4s.
