We often visit our family in Cyprus and a visit to Kourion Beach is always on the agenda. We eat at the Blue Beach restaurant/bar and then sunbathe and swim the afternoon away. When we bring new visitors to the island with us, we go to the Kourion City ruins on the hilltop. The views are magnificent, and the ruins are expansive. Over the years they have been improved with boardwalks, better explanations etc, but they can still improve on these. It costs $4 per adult, children are free. The site closes at 7pm.

Went there as a hidden gem from the map. Plenty of cafe's and restaurants to eat - Beware of the high but warm winds and ensure you put plenty of sun tan on as was burned quite a bit. Sunbeds are 7.50 Euro's.

Kourion beach is our favorite beach in Cyprus. We have come here regularly over the last 10 years. The beach is mostly sandy, with only some small pebbles and you can enter the water without having to wear shoes to protect against the rocks (which is rare on the Cyprus beaches). The water is shallow, with often nice waves and a good place to swim or throw a ball around. The beach chairs and parasols are for rent and not expensive. The only negative is that the beach gets very crowded in the weekends.

As we went by bus to visit the Archaeological site (again) we thought that we would visit the beach which is visible from on high. We had seen cars come and go and so thought a visit must be worthwhile. However, once we walked down to it we discover that the beach was largely made up of pebbles with only some sandy areas.There are some cafe / restaurants with a pleasant view but truthfully not as interesting as many others on the coast. You can see very little of the site from below except that there are some ruins beneath the cliff on the other side of the road from the beach (which were not very well signposted ) and ignored by those just driving back and fore.

Visited this beach the other day and was very disappointed. They have now covered it in socially distanced chairs. You cannot sit anywhere near them in case you are too close. However when visiting the sunshine cafe for coffee a group arrived that was placed so close to us they were bumping our chairs as they moved. That is before many tourists arrive so I dread what it will be like if/when they do. We don’t plan on visiting again any time soon.

Visited here to cool off after a trip to Kourion Archealogical Park.
The beach itself is not that impressive, quite stony and there was some building work going on whilst we were there. But it was quiet and what made it stand out was the sea, we spent ages wave jumping. Probably not enough to surf, but great fun.
I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if you are in the area its worth an hour so or of your time.

I come here to relax here before my sunset visit of the ancient Kourion. Not eye-catching but not bad. Mostly sandy beach with some pebbles, quite long with enough space to park the car. For me the water was too shallow, if you want good swimming you have to go far away into the sea. However the water was clear. So it is recommend for families with children. There is a big restaurant, changing room, and beds to be rent. Quite beach if you relax and spend some time before or after visiting the ancient Kourion.

Like almost everywhere in Cyprus, free parking and cheap sunbed and parasol hire. We enjoyed a really nice afternoon here, with good swimming. Nice and clean with facilities close by.

This beach is very close to Limassol around 10 miles. And also near Episkopi. You can arrange a trip to ancient Kourion and the go to the beach. There are restaurants by the beach. Its wavy so if you have kids is a lot of fun.

Went to this beach after my visit to Ancient Kourion.
Free parking directly at the beach, sunbeds and umbrellas available for only 2,50 €.
Expect some bigger waves.
You can choose between 3 beach bars - I went to the first one and was not disappointed. Good place for a quick lunch .

I will stay in pefkos Limassol... How long distance to beach.. Is beach suitable for swimming

Is the Ancient site worth a visit.... we are thinking of heading there in last week of June. Was the water clear and WARM, and is it big enough to escape the crowds, I appreciate any helpful information you can give, thanks

The ancient site is worth every step in the heat!!! It's beautiful and the site will warm your heart as the sun warms your body.
The warm isn't as warm as the end of the summer but once you're in you'll be fine! Beach does get busy but it's huge, plenty of room to make your own space comfortably and the restaurants serve amazing seafood.

It is far away to reach it on foot.
there is a bus service these but i am not sure which bus number. you can call the local bus co. EMEL and they can tell you. alternatively as k any bus driver and I am sure they can assist you.
