We arrived with an excrusion team and had a small presentation of their wines. It was all very professional but nice and in a friendly way. Their Commandaria is great and I highly recommend visiting while in Cyprus. You can also buy some of their...More

A group of 17 arrived at Lambouri 5 minutes before their closing time. Not only were they welcoming but most friendly and happy to assist us. Their wines, in particular their dry white were simply delicious. We could not resist buying. Try their dessert wine...More

Excellent wines that we will order to be sent home. The tasting was very instructive and the oinologist had good explanations of the pecularities of the Cypriotic wines. The Marethephtiko is a treasure, but costly.

The young guy who took us through the tasting made the experience for us! He told us stories about growing up in Cyprus and some interesting facts about life there. He was very knowledgeable about the wine and didn't rush us through. The white and...More

Took a trip up to Platres just to see the mountains and a different side to Cyprus. Great winery and knowledgeable friendly staff. Wine is good too although that will be personal taste. Surrounding birdlife in valley is a plus (nightingale etc). Worth the visit

Not what I expected of a Cypriot winery really. This place is now German-owned and run. Very efficient but lacking in personality. Most of the wines are reasonably priced but not to my taste buds. I felt that I had to buy something so I...More

Stopped with the hope of looking around the winery and taste some of the wines, but unfortunately tours aren't available at the weekends. However, there were plenty of tasting choices, with a crisp, dry white and a beautifully shaped bottle of delicious Commandaria dessert wine...More

First time to Cyprus - need some tips (16 Replies)
My boyfriend and I will be going to Limassol on August 18 to attend a friend's wedding on Aug 21. As we will be staying in Limassol for 5 days, I would need some extra tips ( I have already browsed thru the Forum) if possible. 1) Will it be better and more economical if we hire a car and drive to all the different places like Kourion and the Lambouri winery or should we just join local tour? 2) Aside from Kourion, Lambouri winery and Omodos Village, are there any other places that we...More

Hi hkhappygal I hope you have a good time in Limassol and enjoy your friend's wedding. I think it would probably be more economical to hire a car rather than do trips to see the places you want to see as then you can stop off on the way if you spot anything interesting. It is easy to drive in Cyprus as most places are just off the highway and it is fun to discover them. I am not sure how much time you wish to spend sightseeing but you could go to Paphos and stop at Aphrodites rock. You...More
