We had family arrive from the Uk, and decided to visit Limassol zoo, we came from larnaca, not having been to Limassol for a couple of years. We found the Zoo in the middle of the town with very limited parking if any as it was all pay and display giving you 2 hours for €2..there was lots of works going on along the sea front so it’s possible there would or will be parking available there ( we had a person with disabilities with us)
The Zoo itself is set within a park, the cost was €5 per adult and €2.50 a child, with OAP /disabled and services entering for free (may need to show proof for this)
The zoo was a good experience and the child enjoyed their time, it would be nice to have a bit more information and correct details on the animals ( sorry we had a zoologist in our group who noticed a few wrong details) but overall it was a good day had by all, with a picnic in the park after.
We will definitely be back.

the zoo used to house large animals many years ago when I was a kid, in tiny pathetc cages. sincethen it has changed, the large animals were taken to better sanctuaries in other countries and the zoo now houses smaller animals and the enclosures do not have bars but are actually nice open spaces. The birds of course are still in a closed space. The zoo also helps the highly endangered Cyprus vulture with a breeding program and the same with the rare sweet water turtle

In the municipal park quite a way from Limassol Centre. There is no parking but we managed to find a space in a side road. It’s a small zoo and entrance is relatively cheap. They have a reasonable range of smaller animals. The enclosures are ok (not large but not tiny) and you can get quite close to the animals. The Meerkats in particular were great fun to watch as were the hippos. It’s a one way system and while there were toilets the snack bar was closed. I think we spent about 45 minutes in total.

I wouldn’t even rate this place if I had a choice.
We thought the admission was fair but constantly kept saying it best be worth it considering we’d trekked for miles to find a atm as they didn’t accept card and so lucky we didn’t have to pay for our two children as they were under 5 as this place was a shambles.
Had a 1 way system due to Covid and was told to wear a mask throughout. It was just me, husband and our two babies in that zoo. I saw no zoo keepers, staff, the snack bar wasn’t even open to even get a drink.
The baby changing was ridiculous, it was just a empty set of drawers out in the open for everyone to gawp as they walked past and no mat or safety clip??
Don’t get me started on the animals!!
No water in half their bowls (it was a hot day) they all looked sick and sad. There was a meerkat eating a duckling, a tortoise had rolled onto his back and was covered in flies (god knows how long he’d been there and I notified the Man who took tickets which he replied ahhh okay)
Birds were placed with deers? Such a random placing of animals.
There was plastic/rubbish and a dead pigeon in one of the enclosures. The water for the fish and ducks was revolting, the place smells horrendous like somethings died. and the most heartbreaking thing was the hippo, He was just sat in not even an inch of water, I even asked my Husband If he was alive. This place should be closed down! The enclosures are disgusting, there’s no food in sight for the animals themselves, no water, they are being left to rot! I will never waste my money there again and I’ll tell everyone to avoid the place! Should be ashamed of yourselves.

The reason for my visit was 'babysitting.' My neighbour had asked me to look after her two young daughters one Saturday morning (ages 6 and 8), so I thought a visit to the zoo would be a great way to spend the morning... WRONG!!!!!

Being a local Cypriot and living in Limassol, it surprised me that I had not visited the zoo since I was maybe 6yrs old. I did not expect a visit to the zoo to be so traumatizing. Even finding parking was a nightmare!

First of all, it's all quite deceiving. You have to enter these beautiful and lush gardens, where peacocks wander freely, before reaching the zoo entrance. It really makes you look forward to a zoo visit. The entrance was very cheap (I think I paid 10-12 Euros for all three of us). Perhaps if they raised the entrance fee, they'd be able to afford to properly care for the animals.

The zoo itself is quite small. Though the grounds are well kept, the animals are not. There aren't that many animals living in the zoo. Those that are, look horribly neglected. The gorgeous tiger is alone in a relatively small cage. It has no 'environment' other than a tree trunk in the centre of the cage. We didn't even see a water bowl. There was ONE monkey alone in a cage the size of a jail cell. The birds were all walking around freely, as their wings had been clipped (so visible, that the little girls were asking why the birds couldn't put their right wings down!).

The so-called Natural History Museum housed within the zoo is nothing more than a collection of local, taxidermised animals in a dark, dusty room. It's more like a 1980's house of death than a ''museum.''

Overall, this is a prison for animals, not a zoo. Whatever animals are left should be mercifully sent to actual zoos where people care about animals, and patrons don't leave the place psychologically scarred. As a local, I am embarrassed that this is what we call a zoo in my country. Unacceptable!

There isn't food or drink available on the zoo premises; however, there is a small kiosk in the municipal gardens where snacks and drinks can be purchased. This is good, as it will take a whole lot of ice cream to try and make the children forget all the animal cruelty horrors they've just seen.

This zoo needs a lot of care. Most of the zoo has different kind of birds. Is a small one with hippo, monkeys, donkey, agrino and some other kind of animals. You can spend 1 to 1.5 h there.Do not forget to take your hats on summer days.

This is a very nice zoo, not to be missed when you visit Limassol. My family (my husband, our little daughter, and my Mom) and I spent there great two or three hours in the sunshine seeing animals of the world in a well kept habitat for the animals.

This is a small zoo, a couple of hours is enough to get well acquainted with all the animals. Most of all we liked the hippos and serpents at terarriume. At the zoo you can see a Cyprus mouflon which you definitely won't see in nature, because they are very shy and agile. As far as I remember, the entrance ticket for an adult is 5 euros, for a baby is free.

The zoo also has a small café where you can have some snacks, and a children's playground. My baby girl did not play on the playground, because it was very hot, and the playground had absolutely no shade. Unfortunately, there is no place to eat normally (not just some snacks) at the zoo or next to it.

This place should be closed immediately and the animals given to zoos that know how to care for them. Filthy cramped conditions. The animals have lost their minds and just walk round in repeated patterns. Such a shame

Considering that Limassol is a fast growing up city that has more to offer and comparing to paphos and Melios zoo, can do better... We have heard that since zoo opened for business, there were elephant, hippo, giraffe but we couldn't find any of those animals there any more. Furthermore there is a very small area for kids playground. It is OK for visiting one time with your child but either should lower the price or upgrade the place and animals.

Too small to be named a zoo and not much to see. Smells bad at some points. Not really suggested. €5 Entrance.
