Just walk around it and take pictures.
It seems that God doesn’t like legs anywhere at the moment. I have visited this mosque in several occasions in the past and there is nothing interesting inside. The best parts are the architecture and the surrounding lakes which one can appreciate from the outside.

    Lovely view, friendly cats
Bring your own trousers and covering for shoulders as not provided by mosque, lovely view of salt lake from mosque. Was the tomb of lady who fell off her colt there that the mosque was named for. Mosque itself plain interior, interesting to see if you have not visited one before. Lots of friendly cats, nice toilets.

    Beautiful setting, horrendous toilets!!
Beautiful setting on a lake. Parking easy and as it’s February no crowds. The outside is definitely more impressive than the inside which seemed a little damp and in need of a little TLC . Path around the lake made for a lovely scenic walk. However, a visit to the toilet was a bit of a shock. Two “ ordinary”toilets in a long line of cubicles with stand up style holes in the floor. This would have been acceptable if each and everyone wasn’t full to the brim with faeces etc!! Absolutely disgusting given that there were hardly any visitors! Dread to think what these would be like in summer 😱 Very poor on behalf of the organisers.

I am not sure if it is worth visiting it as the connections by public transport are terrible! It is really sad because if it was accessible, I would give it more stars. However, you spend more time trying to get there than the time you spend there because it is small and there is not much to see. You see the mosque inside and some archaeological things but this takes 5 minutes. It is a pity because actually it is not far from the city center. The bus route was showing that there was a bus stop nearer to it but even though I pressed the button, the bus only stopped at the airport, there was no bus stop sign along the road! There is one bus stop by the mosque, however, the bus rarely goes there and the whole trip takes like one hour from the center which is madness. Check Cyprus by bus and you will understand what I am talking about. And you need to wear long pants or long skirt/dress to enter there. At least entrance was for free!

I would suggest to reach the site with your own transportation. There is a nice view on the salt lake of Larnaka. It is difficult to appreciate fully the historical site because there are no explanation on site, you have to google it. The mosque has a very nice architecture. We where not allowed inside unfortunately. It made it a 10 minutes visit…

There is a small cemetery at the back with Arabic signs that are interesting to see.

I would go there if it’s on the itinerary, but I would not plan this visit as a destination.

Across the mosque on the other side of the lake there is a place called Salt lake view point with a stunning view on the lake and on the mosque.

We went there to discover that we were in shorts and they didn’t have anything for people to cover. So we couldn’tcome in. So stupid. We went for a walk by the lake, nothing special, maybe if you are a crazy lady obsessed with cats, you would enjoy it.

It is very hard to approach this place, because the public bus transport is terrible.
I cannot tell anything about the building and the sights, because we wore shorts, and the in this case the entry is frobidden. Before the covid they gave a dress which covers your body, but now it is not available.

We spent almost 3 hours for the nothing. It seems we are very bad persons because we wear pants in the sunshine. I fully understand the religious origin of this habit, but…

Anyway, the salt lake, the garden and the flamingos are very nice, but I suggest that you have to go there by car.

Hala Sultan Tekke is a mosque and tekke complex on the west bank of Larnaca Salt Lake. It is quite important place for Muslim people. Mosque is not so impressive but because of location it is quite interesting place to make a stop and explore a little.

To access the site you need to cover your legs, we had shorts so were denied entry,
the site is close to the town but not easy to access. Make sure you have trousers/long skirt to access the site. Salt lake is interesting to see as it is in the same area.

The site a few kilometres outside Larnaca and we were driving past, so stopped en route.

We had a pleasant, short walk along the edge of the salt lake, then called in to the mosque. There were only 6 people on the site, which made it quiet and enjoyable. There’s virtually no information available when you arrive, so do your historical research beforehand.

Please don’t attempt to visit unless you follow the rules. No shorts, dresses must be below the knee, no bare shoulders. Almost everyone was being turned away when we visited (including us). Rude unfriendly staff (Turkish).

Walked an hour on the salt lake trail to go see the site. The salt lake was wonderful and the view across to the site is pretty. However the guards are not very welcoming and quite smug. Turning away many tourists due to clothing. Not offering any form of suitable attire when there for their request. Seems they dont want peoples money to go towards the upkeep. A big shame.

Make sure you are covered suitably. However headresses didnt seem to be an issue! Towels or wraps not good enough for them
