Lack of historical information on site
Jun 2021 • Couples
I would suggest to reach the site with your own transportation. There is a nice view on the salt lake of Larnaka. It is difficult to appreciate fully the historical site because there are no explanation on site, you have to google it. The mosque has a very nice architecture. We where not allowed inside unfortunately. It made it a 10 minutes visit…

There is a small cemetery at the back with Arabic signs that are interesting to see.

I would go there if it’s on the itinerary, but I would not plan this visit as a destination.

Across the mosque on the other side of the lake there is a place called Salt lake view point with a stunning view on the lake and on the mosque.

Bad connection with public transport
Oct 2020 • Solo
I am not sure if it is worth visiting it as the connections by public transport are terrible! It is really sad because if it was accessible, I would give it more stars. However, you spend more time trying to get there than the time you spend there because it is small and there is not much to see. You see the mosque inside and some archaeological things but this takes 5 minutes. It is a pity because actually it is not far from the city center. The bus route was showing that there was a bus stop nearer to it but even though I pressed the button, the bus only stopped at the airport, there was no bus stop sign along the road! There is one bus stop by the mosque, however, the bus rarely goes there and the whole trip takes like one hour from the center which is madness. Check Cyprus by bus and you will understand what I am talking about. And you need to wear long pants or long skirt/dress to enter there. At least entrance was for free!

Relaxing

A pleasant walk along the lake. It was my first mosque, so I was very curious. Peaceful and quiet place. The main tomb is impressive.

Not worth it
Aug 2020 • Couples
We went there to discover that we were in shorts and they didn’t have anything for people to cover. So we couldn’tcome in. So stupid. We went for a walk by the lake, nothing special, maybe if you are a crazy lady obsessed with cats, you would enjoy it.

Beautiful Mosque
Jul 2020
I've never been to a mosque before so I can't really compare, but it looked absolutely beautiful sitting there by the lake. In order to enter the site they will ask you to put on a robe and take off your shoes to enter the mosque itself.

Interesting architecture
Feb 2020 • Family
The site a few kilometres outside Larnaca and we were driving past, so stopped en route.

We had a pleasant, short walk along the edge of the salt lake, then called in to the mosque. There were only 6 people on the site, which made it quiet and enjoyable. There’s virtually no information available when you arrive, so do your historical research beforehand.

Beautiful Mosque at Salt Lake
Feb 2020 • Family
Very nice and peaceful place with lovely garden. The interior is not something special, but the building and the park around it and the adjecent Salt Lake is a must see in Larnaca.
