It’s the most famous church of Larnaca, it was built in the 9th century. (Recostructed in the 17th century). According to Greek Orthodox tradition after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the saint came to Cyprus and later he became the bishop of Kition. Lazarus’tomb is inside the church. The building’s very impressive and inside we liked the beautiful carved ikons and chandeliers.

Said to be burial place of Lazarus. Still remnants of Byzantine period. The ceiling is covered with the most beautiful icon drawings/paintings as well as the alter areas. Overall one of the best attractions of the town.

This church built hundreds of years ago is still used for local services. It is open to the public and the interior is ornately decorated and very well preserved. It was so close to our hotel. At night it is lit up giving it a spiritual aura.

Probably the best thing to see in Larnaca. The church was erected over Lazarus' tomb in 9th century. Byzantine museum of saint Lazarus just outside the chuch is also well worth a visit. The exhibit includes many icons, books, wood carvings, vestments and many other objects of the church.

My wife and I visited this church on a couple of occasions during our week-long stay in Larnaca. It has a wonderful feel, wonderful architecture and set in a nice square with a number of café's and bars nearby. A lovely place to visit

In a week of visiting fairly dissapointing churches, mosques and castle on the island this was possibly the best one that we say.
Interesting history and genuine (!) relics of a saint but in all honesty ten minutes is enough.
Nicely set in a quiet part of town with local restaurants nearby.

A peaceful orthodox church supposedly housing the tomb of St. Lazzarus. Beautiful old church, very quite and though a museum in itself you are charged NOTHING to visit. Then there's the proper musuem just out side the church itself with a minimal fee. Beautiful calm surroundings with loads of souvenirs shops, restaurants and cafes which are open till late.
Situated a few minutes away from the famous castle its an all rounder experience for those who loves history and calm.

Due to COVID rules it was a lot quieter than other times we’ve visited.
We went in, lit candles and had a look around.
Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been as there is great historical interest in the basement area.

This is a beautiful church to visit. Very ornate inside and definitely worth a visit. It is a busy church with many local worshippers and many tourists visiting too. We also visited the Tomb of Lazarus although he is said to no longer be there. The church sits in a square surrounded by shops and cafes.

A beautiful church. Take some time to walk around and look at things. I wasn't dressed appropriately but the Priest didn't bother me, I just lit some candles for my deceased Orthodox granny and left. Dropped 1€ in, think it was enough.
