A wonderful old castle to explore and wonder through. Several interesting displays. But the must see is the wrecked ship museum. You can also refresh yourself in under the old tree.

We really enjoyed our trip to Kyrenia Castle which is in the harbour. There is a lot of information in English and plenty to see. The views are lovely and the ship museum is definitely worth within the castle is worth spending some time in. There is a cafe within the castle walls but we did not eat here so cannot comment on that. Allow a minimum of 2 hours for your visit. Recommended.

This castle is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area. A very interesting history and some good displays to look at. If you up to it, the walk around the walls is worth the climb up.

As a castle, it does not really give much that you can't find in many old castles, and is not very well preserved. The great things are the views of the harbour, the courtyard which is a lovely place, and the church. The church used to be separate from the castle but then the castle expanded and enveloped it. There is clearly a lot of history in here, although it has been severely damaged over the years.

The castle is actually some sort of fortress and you can explore it from inside and outside. It has many different chambers and parts you can visit. Inside, there is also a shipwreck museum where you can see an old shipwreck. You can also climb the walls which reminded me a bit od the city walls in Dubrovnik.
