Beautiful harbour

The heart of Kyrenia.

You can stroll round its harbour packed with myriads of different boats, plus the imposing castle at one end. Various bars & restaurants offer their wares at reasonable prices. Even some of the hotels were once merchants' houses. A beautiful place steeped in history

I was really disappointed with kyrenia Harbour. It was extremely dirty, with lots of broken bottles, plastic and general rubbish floating around the boats. You are constantly hassled by people trying to get you into their restaurants, and they don’t like it when you say no thank you! We walked along the wall, which was in a bad state of repair, the sea outside the harbour was lovely and blue, but inside the harbour could do with a clean up. Sadly neglected.

Good views of harbour, yaughts and old fortress. Almost entirely surrounded by restaurants but the disadvantage is the touting for business by almost all. Real nuisance and interupts any stroll round. Have eaten in a few most good but hard to recommend. If in Kyrenia the 1 restaurant not to miss is Niazis, no starter and go for the full kebab. Good Luck.

If you pick one attraction of Girne, pick this one.

The city of Girne is not so large, and if you ever go there, see the harbour. There's a big parking place nearby and the harbour is easy to reach by walking. The restaurants are ofc a bit touristic, but not overpriced. Get a few photos and make your friends jealous.

Lovely place to relax

We visited on a couple of chilly days but we were prepared for it. The harbour was very picturesque and there were plenty of things to entertain you. There was a large choice of places to eat and lots of shops. The Castle is a must visit if you want to see the stunning views of the harbour

Beautiful location. You feel that the time has stop somehow. Old authentic hotels and houses ... historical harbor ... dynamic place full of life and coffees and restaurants mainly fish restaurants. I recommend

The harbour is a very beautiful place by both day and night although you do get hassled alot off people trying to get you into their restaurants when you walk down the street. As long as this doesn't bother you, you will be fine, they are always polite and friendly. I would definately recommend having an evening meal at the harbour, we ate at an italian restaurant called carbo which had balconies overlooking the harbour which was really romantic once it became dark and everywhere became lit up including the castle. By day you can take a stroll round Kyrenia castle which is situated right on the harbour or sit and enjoy drinks at one of the many bar/restaurants right at the waters edge

Nice harbour with best walkways

Kyrenia is a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbour and castle. It is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus. The harbour is 'U' shaped and there is good view to the mediterranean sea.There is walkways and restaurants .I walked till the end. i captured may selfies and other landscape views . If you are a lover of photograpthy, you could get may good snaps with stunning backgrounds.I tried grilled fish (seabream) in turkish 'Cipua' , its a shallow fried fish with olive oil according to turkish cypriot cuisine.Accompanied with chips and salad.
As a Keralite ( South Indian) its a bit hard to eat in the begining but i enjoyed while eating middle part. the turkish white wine 'angora' is fine with Cipura Good service from the staff and fare prices.
I didnt seen any vloggers arround may be they visited already.More comments coming soon..

Att the entrance of Kyrenia (Girne) harbor is the national tourism office. This small office is packed with amazing brochures, giving all the information any tourist could need regarding visiting the sites of North Cyprus. The staff is English speaking, extremely polite, and really give you that feeling that they are there to help you and improve the quality of your visit. Definitely an important stop off place before setting out to tour this beautiful region of Cyprus.

Kyrenia Harbour is my favourite place in North Cyprus. It is so serene and the business owners are ever so friendly. This is a must visit destination if you are in Cyprus and probably the best tourist attraction throughout the whole island. There is everything you need in the one location from hotels, beach, history, dining, panorama views, shopping, museums, bars and nightclubs. It is east to get by in foot within the harbour district, however in summer it gets very hot so keep in handy a hat and a bottle of cold water.
