This is an absolutely stunning part of Cyprus and well worth a visit. I would suggest you hire a little jeep: we had a Suzuki Ventura which is good for the roads and somehow adds fun to the trip. Drive gently, stop often, feed the donkeys (they are endearingly friendly), look in the churches, walk on the sand, swim in the sea and just take in the moment.

the wild donkeys here have been conditioned to feeding from tourists. one even chase my car for handout while whimpering! then another blocked the road and refused to budge even with the car bonnet almost kissing it.

had to sacrifice my simit from petek pastahanesi to get him out of the way. what a privileged donkey.

even if no donkeys materialize, the country road leading to the karpas peninsula is quite scenic. it is very lush and dotted with wildflowers in january

Lovely views excellent coves along the way very historical with several churches. Highlight of the day was the donkeys that were just wandering along the pathways. We had a huge bag of fruit and the donkeys came to the car window to be fed. Definately worth a visit even though its a long drive.

This is a very special little cove, offering safe swimming and beautiful views. You can rent a bbq and table for 50tl (at the time of writing £2) and bring your own coals and meat. Super relaxing! Bring a snorkel because there's great swimming. Highly recommended!

If you want to track history and heritage, this is the place for you! We went in the winter and it was very windy, so I would suggest spring/summer as an ideal time to visit. It was amazing for our girls to see the wild donkeys and visit the Apostolos Andreas Church, which is sacred to the Orthodox Christians. We said our prayers as a family and bought some souvenirs while there. The journey could have been better as the roads were not in great condition, other than that, we found a great restaurant on the way back, (I cannot remember its name) and made our way home. Highly recommend!

It took much more time than we expected. Part of the road is very narrow and bumpy but finally it worths it when you pass the gate and are welcomed by the cute donkeys who are waiting for their treat from u. Passing the village, we had seafood in a restaurant ( unfortunately can't recall the name) but it had a beautiful sea view and delicious meze. The owners were very kind and they spoke good English. I think 12 kilometers after the restaurant we reached the gate after which we saw donkeys. All in all, it was worth visiting once.

Fantastic day out. Brought two big bags of carrots on the way. It's a long way but worth while. The donkeys will come to you. Take it out of your hand. Stoped at golden beach on the way back. Perfect. Got to be the best beach in Cyprus

This is yet another wonderful place with amazing views before you even get to the donkeys. Golden sandy beaches and crystal clear water. The donkeys are very friendly and will take the food off your lap if you leave the car windows open.

After a thirty minute drive through the park, we spotted a couple of wild donkeys, then near roe exit that had assempbled for feeding by the tourists. Not a world shattering moment. The beach nearby was OK but not worth the trip. To spend five hours in a full coach doesn’t not justify this day trip. Stick to a boat tour is my advice
