Although I have visited Vaduz several times, I have never visited this museum before which was a great mistake. It's a lovely museum with ancient history, local culture, art, nature, religion and a lot more on display. There are visiting exhibits as well.

I got a ticket for this museum which included other museums which saved money and I appreciate the kind folks at this museum for telling me about it.

don’t know about you, but I could barely find Lichtenstein on a map, much less tell you anything about it. The national museum covers history, folklore, and current life in a couple floors of exhibits. The museum is close to downtown, so you can wander through the shops and you’re finished. Recommended

Although the exhibits were great and showcased a lot of interesting information, my takeaway were the staff. Firstly, they were alll wearing ppe, face shields and giving masks, as well as having multiple sanitation stations on every floor. Secondly, they were always smiling and super friendly, with one lovely lady giving us a very in-depth 10minute explanation on the history of the castle.
And all for free!

My trip to Europe before Covid was more of an unplanned thing. While browsing thru my favorite travel blogs, I saw an offer for a one way flight using only 25000 Delta points to Europe from Toronto. So I grabbed the chance visited this tiny country from Zurich . LIECHTENSTEIN is very small. To be honest, I know that this is going to be a boring place to visit but I just had to cross it out from my list and besides its only an hours train ride from Zurich. The only place I was able to visit was the National Museum which was right smack at the Centre of the tiny country.

Main museum of the town containing a real variety of items, with temporary exhibitions too. Art, natural history (ie stuffed animals and birds), archeology, the country's history - all under one roof. Nice gift shop too.

Its the only major historical museum of interest, in my opinion. Lots to see. Over 5 floors. I wish the exhibits are explained in English language . Buy 2 tickets together to visit the royal treasury too.

With there not being much to the city centre, you may as well have a look the museum, even if they aren't especially your thing, which was the case for us.

Imagine the Smithsonian, but for a small principality with a long history. Well displayed in a series of buildings on the Vaduz main street, everything is here: history, culture, arts.

Vaduz,
Capital of Liechtenstein Country :-. Liechtenstein Country is a member of UNO having population near about 8000. Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein, sits on the Rhine River near the Swiss border. Vaduz Castle dates back to the 12th century and is a royal family residence. In the Städtle, the pedestrianized town center, the sleek Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein displays modern art. Nearby, the National Museum houses archaeological and cultural artifacts in a medieval building. Prominent places to visit are Postal museum, Vaduj castle, kunstmuseum, St.Florine Cathedral, National museum and winery. Vaduj city train is available to take round of Vaduj city. Very nice town indeed. National museum is wonderful and we can see number of articles. Lots of information on the history of Liechtenstein from the ancient days of man up through modern times. Great stuff about Liechtenstein history, culture and principality too. Very nice experience indeed.

The national museum made an exception and so my small terrier was the first dog to have visited the museum carried in a small bag !
The friendly staff made up of local woman greeted us kindly, they are happy to be there and are glad to greet visitors possibly because this is a one horse town, not much happening, and any visitor is a breath of fresh air to this small hidden away business banking former tax haven ( now the laws seem to have changed)
The ladies are charming , the ladies are kind, and if you smile, they will smile back twice and be glad to assist you in information and even make an exception for a small visiting dog ( in a bag) who made an historical precedent in a place where not much changes , it is a country that looks like a museum, you can eat off the streets, and the ladies will speak in their soft spoken German and hug a small dog, and welcome you warmly to their small yet detailed and informative museum with many artefacts documenting life in this little corner of the world.
This is the sort of place that can be easily forgotten and yet seeing the queen reminds one of the way loyalty should be treated, as one of the people, except for a much larger home and paparazzi and social status..
The museum is nice, the exhibit i visited was a visiting one , about Marilyn Monroe, it was exceptionally detailed and one of the finest exhibits, well researched and presented.
Liechtenstein invests in its art and it can be found all around, large sculpture, and everything clean and tidy.
I liked the natural history exhibit, they did a fine job with the fox, so much that the dog thought it was real.
Nice explanations and a friendly atmosphere. Down to earth people but the prices not cheap.
People do not pay taxes here and only citizens may reside in the country. The sixth smallest country in the world.
The museum was a pleasant visit.
One of the most friendly museums thanks to the enthusiastic maternal staff!
Auf wieder sehen .
