The boat arrived half an hour late, we were given tangled buoyancy aids which no one checked were correctly fitted, when we got to the spot it took half an hour to give everyone a rod. More people on the boat than the stated maximum. Lots of tangled lines. Catching fish is obviously the luck of the draw but after 45 minutes without a decent bite you would think they might look for another spot. Previous great reviews but they’ve obviously let it slip.

Since the recent storms over the last 3 months Fuseta beach as been washed away, The ferries from Fuseta are not running and there are no amenities on the Island. No toilets, No sunbeds and No cafes
Currently it is a construction site with dredges, JCb's and diggers preparing to replenish the sand, This works will take most of the summer and where there used to be a beautiful beach its now a work site. With noise and total disruption and potentially dangerous.
This is not a beach to be recommended anymore

I had the chance to see Fuseta Island in July and in August, too. I really enjoyed it in July. The people on the beach literally doubled in the first days of August. The ferry takes you there in 5 minutes. Actually the beach is between two working areas you cannot cross, the beach is closed between the two. On the two sides very noisy machines and engines work. I am not sure you can still walk around the island (needs to be checked). There are two good bars, and the sunbeds to be rented occupy more than the half of the beach. The water quality depends on the weather and the number of people. The temperature of the water is around 18 degrees.
When the beach is not crowded it is so beautiful ! Photo included.
In August if you are looking for some private area you must take a taxi boat to go to more remote islands.

A ferry from the river harbour will take you to the beach in 5min. you need to be careful and go for state ferry that charges only 1Euro per ride. Once there you can walk left or right – we went left and you can choose your own spot even go naturalist if you like. You can enjoy miles of sanded beach and even have a massage on the beach in a little tent. There are toilets and a few bars. It can be very windy so do bring a shield and also always look for the warning flags only go for a swim if the flag is green even yellow and specially red means the currents are very strong and waves far too powerful!

A ferry will take you there in about 5 minutes and for 1.5 Euro return. A quick walk up the towpath and you have a massive golden sanded beach stretching for miles in both directions. There are toilets and 2 bars where the prices are very reasonable. A great trip and another must if you visit Fuseta. A word of warning there is always a breeze which can fool you into getting sunburnt.

A short, cheap ferry trip from the Fuseta/Fuzeta marina is one of the best Island beaches around. The more adventurous can walk all the way to Ohao down the beach. Loads of wind surfers when its windy (surprisingly) and not over commercialised like the Ilha near Tavira. Calm waters most of the year too.
Cons: Check before you leave if the ferry is running as it is v sporadic in the low season and water taxis to the island are more expensive. The island bars and cafe's are not open until the high season starts.

As you wind your way from the 125 to the town of Fuzeta, some 15 miles east of Faro off the 125, do not give up as it looks like you are going into the backstreets of now where THEN all opens up into a very well maintained and visitor friendly quay and small beach area with small hut cafes, large car park with ferries out to the Ilha de Fuzeta. Another wonderful area where you can sit and watch the world drift by, views out over the wonder that is the Formosa. Yet another place East of Faro that has not been affected by the commercialism of the west Algarve.

This island has clear water and white sand. The beach has more than a mile of sand, so u can relax and don't see many people, if u want privacy. There are 3 small beach bar near the boat dock, so u can by food and water there. Is one of the most peaceful place around the area. A must go!
