A new addition for 2021 is a sunroof over the cafe / restaurant decking area which saves the dinners from getting cooked in summer

Fantastic area for families with children of all ages. Lovely very clean lake, great sandy beach, not a lot of shade so take an umbrella if you require the shade. Lifeguards on duty all day and very vigilant. Cafe facilities very good with almost full bar. We had nan , grandad, young couple and 2 year old and we were entertained from 11 to 5.30. Took picnic lunch, had a walk around the lake and there were lots of paddle boards canoes and pedaloes we think for hire but we didn’t need them. Large summer school groups arrived but they were just there to enjoy the sun and facilities were kept to one end and were very well behaved. All in all a great day for any age and all for the cost of an ice cream- which were 2/3 euros each so in line with everywhere else. Loved it and will go back.

From the river walk to the historic downtown to the local beach, Gurson offers an opportunity to experience life in the Franch countryside. Swim, walk and talk with locals and soak up the culture and the history of the region.

Amazing place to visit. The car park is free and there is plenty of parking. The beach is lovely and very clean. The water is clear and great for swimming in. The areas for swimming are sectioned off and there is a shallow area of 1m for younger children.
Life guards are on the beach and they keep watch constantly.
Toilets are located right next to the beach and there is also a bar/restaurant.
There are also canoes that are free to use - children under 18 have to be accompanied by an adult.
If you like walking, there is a great walk around the lake where you can see the fish jumping and lizards in the undergrowth.
Would highly recommend and we will definitely go back again!

This is a large picturesque lake in the heart of the countryside. There is a small sandy beach and swimming area, along with kayaks available to hire. Snacks and drinks are available and reasonably priced. If you walk around the lake there are plenty of picnic sites and you are able to relax and watch the birds and wildlife.

Pretty beach with good facilities for young and old alike. Easy to park and walk around. Safe swimming, children’s play areas, good priced food and snacks, cold beer etc!

Since it's updating the Lac de Gurson has little to offer apart from a small playground, a small beach and swimming. Unfortunately, it has lost a lot of its appeal. Disappointed.

This lake is free to access and has a sandy man made beach with play equipment, a couple of snacketeria, and plenty of shady areas. The food is pretty good and varied for this type of facility and you can buy teas and coffees, beers and wines. Dogs are allowed on a lead. It is located at the end of a long windy lane - be warned as we and others thought we were on the wrong road.

Can you take dogs?

Hi! Yes you can take dogs but they are not allowed on the beach. There are plenty of wooden tables and benches in the picnic areas where you can go with a dog and you can take them to the café and walk around the lake.

Do you know if you are allowed to take your dog into the lake area?

Hi has anyone had any experience swimming in this lake? I am looking to do some triathlon training whilst on holiday and so would like to know how far is a lap of the lake, if it's safe to swim in etc. Thanks.

Hi again. Like I said yesterday the swimming and boating areas are separate and I confirmed that you can't swim in the boating area for safety reasons. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but that's what it is I'm afraid.
