It's tower is visible on the skyline from so many parts of the city, and, up close, it is a really beautiful building and well worth a little time to take a look.

This is not a large museum, but it is quite interesting even for those of us not in the profession and with no special interest in numismatics. There is a good review of banking technology as well as Luxembourger currency. It will take less than an hour and is easy to find. Most of the public buses between the old city and the train station go right past. When you are finished, exit and turn right for a stroll along the picturesque Citadel Gardens.

Was very disappointed to have walked into the reception with my wife (both smartly dressed professionals in our early 30s), only to be told by the receptionist that we could not enter the museum. When we asked why we were told that they were waiting for someone and to come back later. Felt very unwelcome and robbed off for unknown reasons.

When I first saw the building, I was asking the taxi driver what was that palace? SO I found out is the Saving Bank, now the building hosts a museum. I got curious so the visit paid my curiosity.

We only walked outside the building which we liked for its architecture, it is not a far walk from city center, and not any traffic either. Good for night walk too if the weather is ok.

This museum gives a good overview of the banking system and how things have changed over the years in terms of technology etc. It's free to enter and a good way to spend an hour if you're in the area.

A small museum conveniently located in the Head Office of the Banque et Caisse d'Epargne City of Luxembourg focussed on the history of banking in Luxembourg and the Banque et Caisse d'Epargne. Good selection of traditional museum type exhibits and multimedia. Staff were very friendly.
