Really cute little bridge that always seem to be packed and buzzing with locals and tourists. Beautiful design, and neat spot.

The topography of Luxembourg City requires many bridges, and of those this is one. A photo opportunity as well as an engineering feat.

It wasn’t too busy in this part of the city and has many interesting old buildings. When we were there the restoration work was happening on the old fortifications.

As a consequence of Luxembourg city's geographic location on a series of plateau between deep gorges, the architecture is dominated by a number of very high, architecturally beautiful bridges, this being just one. Both road and rail transport relies heavily on these engineering masterpieces and it lends this city a very unique appearance.

I wasn't expecting something extraordinary when I decided to go there but when I reached it was actually a pretty amazing view. I would recommend for those visiting Luxembourg. You have the casemates just next to it and the Petrusse Express.

Similar to the Adolphe bridge but maybe less known is the Viaduc(Passerelle) bridge - built in the same period after Luxembourg became an open city and the fortress got "dismantled" in 1867 - so the bridges to connect the various parts of the city got built after that time. Now this bridge is connecting the Av. de la Gare (leading to the main train station) with the Plateau of Saint Esprit.
When were there in April 2019 the view was obstructed by the work that is being done to the bridge so it wasn't ideal - only from a few spots you could take pictures. But when it will be ready you can take pics of:
- the Petrusse valley both directions
- the Saint Esprit plateau - that was available when we were in Lux.
- towards the Gelle Fra and the Adolphe bridge.
Overall a spot worth checking out when you are walking through Luxembourg.

This is a very photogenically curved structure that dominates the centre of the old town. Whether you're near it, looking across at it or looking up at it, it's very impressive! It can be seen from quite a few areas but each time we have visited it's been cloudy so I'm not sure about sunrise/sunset potential with long shadows stretching out.

Accessible and within minutes walk from the old downtown area, offers a stunning view of the old and new town. Great to walk around here also!
