This is an iconic monument in Luxembourg that is hard to miss. It offers a beautiful location to take some stunning pictures and to look over The Constitution square.

If you are driving you can park your car here and also you can purchase some souvenirs here. Very central location to a lot of other sites to see all in walking distance.

The Golden lady, also known as Monument of Remembrance is an iconic monument in the heart of Luxembourg City. On a tall obelisk stands the golden lady with wreath in her hand at the place de la constitution. The war memorial is dedicated to all Luxembourgish world war heroes.

It is one of the main tourist attractions of Luxembourg. Here you will always find hordes of tourist strolling around with a camera in hand.During sunny days which are quite few in Luxembourg,it is the best sunset vista point. One can enjoy a scenic sunset with stunning view of valley,Adolphe bridge and other heritage building of the city in the backdrop.

There is a souvenir shop nearby from where I always have coffee in winter and ice-cream in summer. Month long Christmas market takes place here otherwise the square serves as a parking lot, rest of the year.

A Memorial , a Golden Lady on an obelisk in stone: it was set in1923 after the first World War:
to comemorate the luxembourgs soldats who perished.
On the second World War, the NAZIS in 1940, pulled the Golden Lady down and then She was not find more again, - till in the years 8o I think, i'm not sure , they find her again under the stadion and the nice golden plated Lady so she was renoved in 1982, for a long time, and the nice femal looks at her original appearance.
She represent very much for the luxembourg people, and all tourist visit her .

(Constitution Square) :
- Now it is the Memorial Monument for Freedom and Resistance for Luxembourg -

The monument has a nice golden statue at the top but you will need a proper zoom to get a good photo. Nice view and a short wal to the famous Adolphe Bridge

The "Golden Lady" (Gëlle Fra) on Constitution Square was initially set up in 1923 as a memorial to the Luxembourgers who died in the First World War. In October 1940 the Nazis pulled the monument down. It was restored in 1984 as a symbol of liberty memorializing lives lost in WW1 and WW2. There is parking at the site and the views offered from Constitution Square are well worth it!! An easy stop on a walking tour of local sites...municipal park, Notre Dame, Pont Adolphe, etc
