Beautiful town and castle to visit for at least half a day. Sit by the river at the bottom of the hill and just take in the view.

Vianden is a picturesque town located 1 hour by train north of Luxembourg city. Though the castle is listed as its main attraction, I would argue its beauty lies in the quaintness of the town combined with the river running through its centre and the...More

Quite an enjoyable castle. Maybe we were lucky, but there was some kind of market inside, keeping you interested for just a while longer. The castle itself wasn't all that big, at least not the part you could visit, but there were some nicely decorated...More

Vianden Castle is situated on the hillside overlooking the stunning town of Vianden. The castle can be reached via a relatively steep walk up through the village or by using the chair lift with a 500m walk down an uneven footpath. The chairlift itself offers...More

The castle is situated high above Vianden and is really beautiful when viewed from down in the town, particularly at night when it is accented with light. We arrived in the morning when it opened and experienced no crowd issues. As always, it's better if...More

Very historic. Lots of stairs but so beautiful. Worth the visit. The views are fantastic and the town is also worth the visit.

The castle is very nice an the visit was great and some great views of the area. Plenty to see on the visit with a nice cafe for a snack during your visit.

The Castle is interesting, but there is admittedly not much to see in the castle itself. However, the views one can get from the castle are quite impressive. This is a definite must-see when you're in Luxembourg.

There are lots of ups and downs inside this castle making it not good for young children. The views over the city were fantastic and it was great to learn the history of this fascinating castle and its restoration

I think 2h is enough, including 20mn for a coffee inside. You won't spend more than 3h there in any case.

Hi it's a steep climb to get to the doors and there are many steps to be negotiated in the castle but it's well worth a visit! I would leave the buggy at the paying desk on the way in. Hope this helps.
