The last week of May I spent seven day on the Faroe Islands. Tummas provided an excellent Faroe Island experience. I was shown the island’s beautiful landscape and towns. Equally important to me was to hear about how the Faroese live, their culture, their art. It was all very magical.

Very grateful for David for going through with the tour even though several participants cancelled and I was the only one left on the tour.
We had a wonderful visit to all the highlight locations of the Faroes, including Saksun, Tjornuvik, Gjogv and Kirkjubour. David is super knowledgeable about the country and is happy to share all that knowledge. We also made several extra photo stops and our bagel lunch on the beach jn Tjornuvik was tasty and fun. There is also free time in several spots so you can wonder around at your own pace and take lots of pictures.

I spent several days doing different hikes with this company. My guide was knowledgeable, very easy to be with, funny, and accommodating. I had a great experience of Faroese perspective, lifestyle, and landscape. I would highly recommend this company for both the novice and the well traveled.

Tummas for Kallsoy Island and cousin Johannes for Faroe Highlights were both friendly,informative and fantastic! I was one of two solo Travelers in a car for the day, including lunch and coffee stops. The scenery we saw and the information we learned could not have been better! I highly recommend Heimdal Tours.

This was an outstanding tour. We were on a cruise ship, and pre-booked this tour as a shore excursion. All good, until the captain docked us 20 minutes away from our pick-up location! However, after contacting the operator they waited and we were able to join the tour.
The whole day was exceptional. Just 6 of us in a small group and we visited all the major sights. Janus our guide was great - so interesting and full of information. And we were lucky with the weather - although cloudy we managed to avoid rain for almost all of the day. We enjoyed our substantial picnic lunch (delicious) and everyone took turns in rotating our seating in the van.
The scenery is nothing short of spectacular - if you get the opportunity go, and go with Heimdal Tours - you won't regret it.

Because of very unpredictable weather conditions, it's not certain when the ferry is running. I had to wait for 4 days. The sea around Mykines is rough, as the island is the first to face the North-Atlantic currents. Seeing how the ferry enters the 'harbor' (just a deep crack in the rocks) is an event in itself. Then you hike up the steep path to the village and from there on it goes steep uphill to a mountain ridge. No more than 5 minutes into the walk, you start to see puffins along the path. They are literally ALLOVER the place and they are awesome. A bulky bird with the head of a parrot and the body of a penguin - they are so so nice. The walk past the colony is muddy and not always easy but it's so worth the effort ! Make sure you have the earliest possible ferry into the island and the very last one out as you'll need your time on the island.

All tours in the Faroe Islands that include a sea journey are subject to weather an sea conditions, but especially Mykines. Still it is worth the perseverance and patience as the rewards are superb. We had the best time and the best guide David. A very nice guy who picked us up at our hotel, took us to everything. There was plenty of chances to get out and take a picture. We walked around and he showed us most of the stops and some he let us go by ourselves while he waited in the car. Delicious lunch and great conversation. We would do this guided tour again and recommend it to everyone! Big thanks to Heimdal Tours!!

Arriving via cruise ship, we did not have any preconceived ideas about the Faroe Islands. Our tour guide did an excellent job of showing us the island and explaining its history and many of the cultural experiences that continue to exist today. Great way to see and learn about this peaceful place.

We spent six days in the Faroe Islands. David and Tommas from Heimdal Tours are really great tour guides. They had a wonderful itinerary for us. They arranged all tours, hotel and airport transfers. They are very knowledgeable and very professional. We saw so much and learned so much. Very easy to communicate and confirm travel details. Definitely the best!!!

History and present of the people of the Faroe Is is covered. Ocean cured whale and cod are seen and discussed. Generally insight into how people survive in this harsh climate. Puffins, scenery even homemade waffle and coffee available. Enjoy!

We will be in Torshavn on Tuesday, July10th, 2018, arriving on the cruise ship SilverWind. We will be in Port from 8AM - 2:00PM. Do you offer any morning 1/2 day tours that would get us back to the Port between 12N-1PM?

Hi We generally offer a Faroe Islands Highlights Tour which takes in several of the local must see villages. We can do a private tour just for the two of you taking in the village of Gjógv, then Kirkjubøur on the way back to Tórshavn and a historic stroll around old Tórshavn prior to rejoining ypur ship. Pick up 08:00 return 12:30 regards. David
