Gozo and Comino Islands: including Blue Lagoon, Crystal Lagoon & caves

331 reviews
Get away from the main island of Malta in search of sea and sunshine on this tour from Bugibba. Visit the Crystal Lagoon (if traveling in June-October), followed by the Blue Lagoon on Comino for swimming and snorkeling. From here, continue to Gozo Island, where you have the choice of enjoying free time at your leisure or taking a tour of the island's historic sites before cruising back to Bugibba via the Santa Maria pirate caves.

Worth 10 mins of your time if you are interested in abstract art and it’s free. Passmore died on Malta but his best work in U.K. galleries.

If you have 15 minutes to spare in Valletta, the head down to the Victor Pasmore gallery, you will find it on the walking path just outside the city walls between Upper Barrakka Gardens and the bus terminus. The gallery is quite small and it will only take you 10 minutes or so but the paintings are nice and the room is air conditioned. They are open between 11 and 15 and admission free, so take the opportunity when you walk to the buses.

I’m not an art critic but I do like art. But not this. I suggest that if you can doodle with a pencil and paper or chuck ink around then you could do at least as well as anything that’s in here. It is primitive and we found it uninteresting. But then, I’m no art critic...

This gallery gave me a whole new appreciation for abstract art, it broadened my knowledge and to my ignorance had not heard of Victor Passmore before going to this gallery and now I love his work and will do more research. The attendant was ok e of the best I have come across through visiting g galleries, shared his knowledge and engaged in conversation, thank you!

It was a real joy to step away from the crowds heading between the bus station & the new gate & find this (entrance free) gallery, which appears to be surrounded by the Bank of Malta premises: both buried deep within the old walls of Valletta. Even if you are not a modern art aficionado you can’t fail to be impressed by the setting & ambiance of the gallery as well as the enthusiasm & knowledge of the guide. Displaying a number of Passmore’s works & an enlightening video we enjoyed the really beautiful abstract art & the warm welcome & spend a considerable time there. Despite our common nationality & interest in abstract art, we didn’t know much about Passmore. It’s minute in size, but actually this may the best gallery in Malta!
