We had a fantastic informative tour with Matthew, it really brings Valletta to life and forms a great story to this fascinating city, right up until the present time. The tour is excellent value and just the right amount of time and distance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this factual, fun and intriguing tour, you will look at Valletta in a different way after it

One thing I have come to realise is that one of the 1st things to do when arriving at a new place, is to book on a walking tour. For me, it's the best way to quickly immerse yourself into a new area and get acquainted with it.

The tour started at the main gate into the city, which is really just an opening nowadays. I was met by Matthew, the guide, who welcomed me onto the tour.

It was a small intimate group of 4, which was great as this afforded us plenty of opportunities to ask questions along the way.

Matthew was very knowledgeable and had a nice friendly manner about him. It was a pleasure being show around the city by such professionalism.

We saw the main sites, city walls, Parliament (old and new), Cathedral, Churches, Grandmasters residences, gardens etc etc. Also learned a lot about the culture and history of Malta. I left with a good feel for the area, knowing what places to revisit and spend more time exploring in detail.

I was also recommended, what turned out to be, a great restaurant for lunch. Traditional Maltese grub!

I would highly recommend this tour. It was very affordably priced for a 3 hour tour and everything it covered.

This is by far the best free valetta tour in Malta
It was very well narrated and we were taken to the important parts of the city. Matteo did a fantastic job in keeping us interested and in telling us about malta’s past and present history. Matteo was very professional and with such s good free tour it made me look at booking other paid tours with this company as I know what I will be getting

We joined the 10:00 am tour, which starts at the New Parliament Building just inside the city wall, and paid for it directly with our tour guide having only recently decided to do it.
Matthew, our tour guide, was just great. Very easy to listen to and extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of Valletta. He was able, in an easy to understand way, to bring the story of the city to life as he led the group around the streets describing the earliest times through to modern times and provided an insight into how various buildings came to be built and many historical events from the Knights of St. John to the second world war.
The tour lasted three hours, which was plenty of time to gain a real insight into Valletta and not have any sense of being rushed.
Definitely worth doing whilst visiting Malta.

Really enjoyed our 3 hour walking tour today with our personable host Matthew. Don’t be put of by the 3 hour walking title as you don’t cover a huge amount of ground but the tour is packed with interesting information about Vallettas turbulent past & journey in to the wonderful city it is today. Great views & photo opportunities abound & all the information is delivered in an affable confident manner backed up by in depth knowledge & passion for the city. Really good tour, very well presented. Would highly recommend it.

We booked the Valletta walking tour (free) and our guide was Ben. This was one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. We learnt so much about Malta (and European history)! The delivery of the information was excellent and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting this fascinating city. This was a highlight of our trip to Malta. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I joined the Valletta free walking tour with our guide, Jennifer. She was very knowledgeable and interlaced fact with enjoyable anecdotes and legends to make it a very interesting and fun tour. The tour was 1 1/2 hours long, just enough to get a flavour of the Knights and the history of the area right up to World War 2 l. I would thoroughly recommend this company and I am already booked onto their Mdina tour.

I booked the free Valletta walking tour which lasted just over 1.5 hours (we finished about 11:45). Despite having been to Malta several times before, I learned a lot more about the different residences of the Knights of Malta and the Grand Master. It was really interesting to hear more about the purpose of some of the buildings I had walked past so many times.

Very well organised, our tour guide had a mini speaker, and checked regularly that everyone could hear. There was plenty of opportunities for questions.

For those who have never been on a free walking tour before, there is an opportunity to give the tour guide a tip at the end for their time. I have added a photo of the meeting point for the start of the tour. I recommend bringing a bottle of water with you if it is a warm day, and if required a toilet stop at the Upper Barrakka Gardens is possible.

Matteo was our guide around La Valletta and it was such a great walking tour with him.
He explained the most important buildings and history facts to us in a clear language adapting his speech to the questions and audience on that moment.
Really worth to get to know the city with him,

Absolutely outstanding! Matteo was an exceptional guide for our Valletta walking tour. From the moment we met him, his passion for the city and its rich history was palpable. He expertly guided us through the charming streets, bringing Valletta's beautiful architecture and vibrant culture to life with his deep knowledge and engaging storytelling.

Matteo's enthusiasm was contagious—he made every stop along the way feel like a journey back in time, sharing fascinating details about the city's past that we would have never discovered on our own. He was patient, attentive, and always ready to answer our questions, ensuring everyone in the group felt included and immersed in the experience.

Whether we were standing in awe of the stunning St. John's Co-Cathedral or wandering through the bustling market squares, Matteo made each moment memorable. His ability to weave together the historical, cultural, and modern aspects of Valletta was truly impressive.

We left the tour not only with a deep appreciation for this incredible city but also with a sense of connection to its history, all thanks to Matteo's guidance. If you're looking for an unforgettable way to explore Valletta, I cannot recommend Matteo highly enough!
