The Church of Our Lady of Victories was the first church built in Valletta to celebrate victory over the Ottoman invaders, It is not a large church but the furnishings are impressively ornate. The ceiling and the many side altars are really amazing.
While making our way to the upper Barraka gardens passed by and stopped at this small church! No entrance fee...a small church but with very, very nice ceiling paintings! Be aware not to use a flash (forbidden) to preserve this really beautiful ceiling art!
It's a small church, but with a beautiful ceiling. I recommend going inside and having a look. There is no charge, but a donation is requested Sit down on one of the wooden pews and admire the artwork in the ceiling.
After fending off the ottomans on the 1500s the first building in the fortified town that would be Valletta, was the church Our Lady of Victories Chapel. It is well worth a few moments of your time, and have a good look at the ceiling...More
While the outside looks insignificant when you step through the door the roof artwork and religious artifacts put this small church in a class of it's own and with the door open you know you and your donation to restoration are welcome.
