The sunlight shining on the limestone buildings of the 3 Cities opposite changes every minute and is a delight for the photographer. Being the main Harbour there is constant movement from the two man Luzzus to the vast pilot guided cruise ships not to mention the twice daily - 12 noon and 4pm - cannon fire from the level below.

The views from here are stunning! The garden is lovely, the cannons get fired at 4pm and whilst I didn't see them I am sure it would have been great to see. It is very peaceful up here and there is a cafe next to it where you can grab a beer. Highly recommended if you are in Valletta

Not much to do, except to appreciate the amazing views that one can see from this place. You may also sit down, enjoy an ice cream while you appreciate what Malta offers.

This is a well laid out garden with toilets, refreshments and a magnificent view of the Grand Harbour. From here you overlook the three cities, moored ships and any passing sea traffic. In addition you overlook the ceremonial canons which are fired at 1.00pm & 4.0pm daily. The museum here is well worth a visit it abounds with history. You can... More

It was a lovely day and we were blessed to be there at the Festival of St Paul and the shipwreck and all that. In honour there was a full gun salute and the guides were in full flow. Whilst there look for the tomb of Henry Anderson Morshead, governor of Malta a few years ago, in fact quite a... More

We were walking close to the Auberge de Castille and came across the iron gates. People were getting through and then I remembered about the gardens so we did get inside. The actual garden is small, the stroll is pleasant and it is a lovely place to take your time and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake at... More

My wife and I visited Valletta in February so it was not so crowded as later in the year. The gardens are quite small but we wanted to see the views from here and we were not disappointed. You pass a central fountain and through the colonnades at one end you have magnificent views of Valletta Grand Harbour and Vittoriosa.... More

Wonderful views from this high point. Gorgeous architecture, wonderful sculptures, lovely cool fountain and fun cats, but not much in the way of horticulture. A few trees which will be pleasant in summer and maybe the geraniums will grow to cover the irrigation system, but hardly a gardener's paradise. Go for the view, especially if you're a cat lover as... More

Go there for two main reasons the amazing view over the harbour and the cannon at noon. The latter is quite ceremonial and perhaps a tad overplayed but still worth watching. It is quite loud though and my youngest (4 years ild) was a bit upset.

Although it's only February, we could see how beautiful the gardens will be in a few weeks. Nevertheless a lovely place to sit on a busy day!
