Best views, great for photos

Great views and great for taking photos of the three cities. Worth walking up from the city rather than taking the lift.

These are part of the fort complex which was first occupied by Turks during "Siege of Malta". From here one can also see two other important forts across the sea. Everyday at 12:00 PM and in the evening 4PM (not sure of eve timings) there will be a canon firing called "Saluting Battery". We walked through the Valletta till the... More

Picturesque scenes as for Holywood historical movies, but with modern boats and yachts. Like everything in Malta- compact and does not take long time for viewing. Tip- ticket is requiered to go up with elevator from the footsteps of Valletta, but going down is free of charge.

The upper garden (Barrakka) is an amazing garden with the most magnificent views that you can imagine, you can watch and admire the beautiful natural port underneath you, you can even drink and dine while you are enjoying the magnificent views, At 1200 sharp you can watch the cannons fire, this garden was built by the Knights of Malta in... Lovely garden with fabulous views of the harbour. Nice quiet place to sit and catch up with friends. The lift is an added bonus!

As a garden, the Upper Barakka Gardens are okay. There is a nice view over the grand harbour, but don't expect a spectacular park. A good thing, however, is that from the gardens you can see the Saluting Battery which fires a cannon at noon and 4 pm every day.

The Barrakka offers the best view of Grand Harbour. It reveals the the grand fortifications and the sheer scale of the city walls. Take the lift to visit the Valletta Water front with its good restaurants along the berthing zone for cruise liners. Within walking distance of Barrakka, you can visit some of the gems of Valletta such as the... More
