It's not the gardens that are magnificent. It's the breathtaking view of the Grand Harbour from the lofty terrace topping the highest point of the Valletta bastions. From here you behold the harbour creeks across the water, and the peninsulas pointing at you like the fingers of a hand, chief of which the stately Fort St Angelo at the tip... More

This is close to the Pjazza Jean de Vallete and has trees and a central fountain with a courtyard cafe and a balcony overlooking the saluting battery of cannons (which I think fire at 12pm and 4pm during winter). The Barrakka lift is towards the southwest edge of the gardens. Worth coming too - remember the view from here is... More

From the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta you can get a lovely view of the Grand Harbour the Mediterranean Sea and the three cities. In the summer months you can also get lovely views in the evening of the lovely churches lit up for the festas done for their patron saints.

The canons of Saluting Battery fire every day at 12.00 and 16.00 o'clock. You do not need to pay in order to watch them as there is 'Uper Barraka Gardens' where you can sit, have a drink with the view of the wonderful bay of Valletta and wait for the fire. Characteristic experience of Valletta.

Nice panorama tarrace with the view on 3 cities and port. There is nice music playing in the background. Lovely park with fountain in the middle and toilets on the side available for tourist. Plenty of benches where you can rest and enjoy the view.

Amazing views once it is found. I stumbled upon this and wasn't sure what I was walking into. Missed the canons but if your there for 12 they fire them everyday! Small cafe on site as well as toilets (man expecting money sat outside. Unsure if this was a job or if he was just a chance ..either way her... More
