This is a tourist trap not worth visiting. Whilst the buildings are pretty, the restaurants are trash. Comparably unfriendly and of rather low culinary value compared to some of the amazing restaurants in Valletta. The views are blocked by a harbour, a war ship and there's rather ugly industrial inatallations in large parts of the view. At most this is worth driving or walking by, certainly not worth staying and certainly not worth dining.

The paths leading to the Waterfront are cool, the area itself is clean and maintained.

However, evenings and nights: it's so noisy because of the busy eateries and the many outside tables, that it's probably going to cause anxiety fits in the more gentle visitors. I am not sensitive, but even I felt it was too much.

Also: it's impossible to get a meal delivered or order for takeaway after 7 p.m. You'll literally be shooed in favour of the people who actually eat at the tables.

There are two benches which are prefect of you grab a coffe from Starbucks and decide to drink it at the Waterfront. You can stare at the departing cruises or the parked boats.

The shops at the beginning of the walk were closed during my visit to the area.

We weren’t actually cruising, but 3 ships were in port when we visited. The ancient walled city towered above, and there were a few restaurants right on the waterfront across from the ships. Tip: pay the 1 euro to take the lift/elevator up to the historic district. Views of the 3 Cities at the top are spectacular, and it saves a lot of time.

It's a lovely island and I went for 7 nights but this was far too long.
Three nights would have been perfect.
My bad luck is that I was in Mellieha which is on the north of the island.
There's not much around there so you have to take a bus journey to Valetta and surrounding areas.
Valetta is amazing, fantastic place to have a wander and people watch.
People are very friendly and it appeared to be a very safe place.
If you don't have a car then the first thing you should do is buyer Tallinja bus pass, €21.
Buses are frequent and plentiful although can get very crowded.
I went in February and although sunny and dry it was quite cool.
A great place to visit for a short break.

Apart from crowds of people off cruse ships following leaders around carrying flags, it was pretty disappointing. Not really many places open to eat few traditional Maltese restaurants. Prices seemed to be inflated as it obviously relys on cruise passengers. We wouldn’t waste our time there again rather eat in Valletta somewhere and we love Malta have been coming here for nearly 45 years regularly.

Really awful place and not worth a visit at all. It’s basically just a strip of bars and restaurants and a few shops designed solely for the zombies from the cruise ships that dock nearby. Starbucks and the Hard Rock Cafe and otherwise overpriced venues.

We were there when 2 huge cruise ships had docked and were surrounded by masses of older Americans and Germans. It was horrific. Do yourself a favour and avoid this love in favour of a restaurant or bar down a side street in Valletta or in any of the surrounding towns.

Staying in Malta for a lovely break with my partner. Staying at melleiha lovely. Took bus to vallatta omg rude dirty service staff in restaurants dirty open toilets at bus station. The other resorts are so nice. This place is hell on earth.

Gotta love this place! First of all, it is clean and well maintained. You have a wide variety of restaurants and cuisines to choose from. Only issue - parking! It is very very hard to find any parking space, especially when you have cruises coming in.

First visited on our sailing boat as we visited the little creeks in an around Valletta, the Three Cities and Sliema. Very nice from the water and when we visited on foot even nicer. Lots going on watching the boats come and go and while we’re there a cruise ship entered the harbour and tied up which was quite a spectacle.
Worth a visit if in the area.

Beautiful area and harbor. This was a great walk with greak views. This is not an area to go swim. Locals were super friendly, fresh catches of the day available, lots of places to eat, have a glass of wine and some gelatto to enjoy the views and soak in the good weather
